Drank 750 ml of Tumescence by The Bruery (2013-12-30) | March 16th, 2014 |
2014-03-16 Tons of fruit, and a great rind-like bitterness on the finish that pairs well with the mango and fruit. Not sure why it's got such a low rating, great beer.
2014-03-07 Still fruity, still tasty, great and easy drinker.
2014-02-24 Lots of fruit, Belgian saison spice, and sugar in the nose, milder on all counts on the palate but a pleasant mix. An enjoyable beer, though doubt it will do much with time, should drink them sooner than later.
Drank 12 oz of Dogpatch Sour by Almanac Beer Co. (2014-03) | March 15th, 2014 |
2014-12-31 Lots of tart up front, some subdued berry character, not medicinal and quite tasty.
2014-03-15 Delicious, not too sour, not too sweet, perfect amount of fruit in the nose and on the palate. Glad they did a second run of this.
Drank 650 ml of Lips of Faith - La Folie by New Belgium Brewing (2013) | March 11th, 2014 |
2014-03-11 Flanders-like nose, but much more like a Consecration or other dark sour profile. A year hasn't hurt it at all, and possibly even enhanced the sour side of the beer.
2013-02-15 Heavy lacto, not much brown, pretty good.
Drank 750 ml of Grey Monday by The Bruery (2013-09-25) | March 8th, 2014 |
2019-12-07 Still great if huge, and hazelnuts have mellowed substantially much to my liking.
2014-03-08 Awesome, really boozy nose but almost none of it on the palate, the hazelnut is very mild and otherwise it's the delicious Black Tuesday profile I expect. Delicious.
Drank 750 ml of Peche 'n Brett by Logsdon Farmhouse Ales (2013) | March 8th, 2014 |
2024-12-20 Lovely brett beer with (maybe invented?) still some peach flavor sneaking in there. Honestly expected more of a brett bomb but it was great, a crowd favorite.
2014-03-08 Great brett character, still some nice peach, such a nice peach sour even after a year.
2013-09-14 Great beer, big brett presence with mild peach fruitiness. Would have liked a bit more peach, but still an awesome brew, the house Logsdon bugs are very recognizable.
Drank 750 ml of Serpent's Stout by The Lost Abbey (2014) | March 8th, 2014 |
2014-12-31 Nothing mind blowing, but still a very tasty, straightforward stout
2014-03-08 Really dark, tons of roast, a tiny bit of bitter chocolate. Great, drinkable stout, and hides the ABV perfectly.
Drank 750 ml of Chocolate Rain by The Bruery (2013-12-04) | March 8th, 2014 |
2017-04-30 Really big up front with a tiny bit of heat, but super chocolately on the finish. Yum.
2014-03-08 Big, boozy, lots of roasted chocolate, almost no head, a bit harsh on the finish but oh man what a beer. Raiiiiiin.
Drank 330 ml of Trappist Westvleteren 12 by Brouwerij Westvleteren (2013) | March 7th, 2014 |
2014-03-07 Malt and yeast in the nose, sweet on the palate, Belgian in character, quite good. Oh man the hype though.
2013-09-11 Sweet nose, candi sugar, molasses, and some cloying on the palate, along with a healthy, frothy head. Delicious, as expected.
Drank 750 ml of Flemish Red Ale Grand Cru by Brouwerij Strubbe (2013) | March 7th, 2014 |
2014-03-07 Very sweet, not much funk or tartness, straightforward Flanders. Alright but not great.
Drank 750 ml of Tumescence by The Bruery (2013-12-30) | March 7th, 2014 |
2014-03-16 Tons of fruit, and a great rind-like bitterness on the finish that pairs well with the mango and fruit. Not sure why it's got such a low rating, great beer.
2014-03-07 Still fruity, still tasty, great and easy drinker.
2014-02-24 Lots of fruit, Belgian saison spice, and sugar in the nose, milder on all counts on the palate but a pleasant mix. An enjoyable beer, though doubt it will do much with time, should drink them sooner than later.
Drank 12 oz of Valley of the Heart's Delight by Almanac Beer Co. (2013-02) | March 4th, 2014 |
2015-11-07 So much fruit has survived and this tasted amazing! Apricot most forward flavor, great mix with the sour notes, the clear Almanac winner.
2014-03-04 Another tartness bomb up front, with a great fruity nose and lingering notes of fruit and bready yeast on the palate. Similar yeast profile to the Sourdough Wild, but without the hopped floral character and with more citric bite. Tasty.
Drank 12 oz of Sourdough Wild Ale by Almanac Beer Co. (2013-02) | March 3rd, 2014 |
2014-11-30 Weird nose but tasty, sourdough notes quite forward.
2014-03-03 Really interesting sour, lots of Mosaic and Brett are the defining characteristics. Soft and bready, definitely a lot of yeast. Tasty.
Drank 12 oz of Brandy Barrel Peche by Almanac Beer Co. (2013-02) | March 3rd, 2014 |
2014-03-03 Sweet peach nose, very smooth with little carbonation, but a decided puckering tartness on the first sip, mellowed after a few more. Lots of wine notes, subtle peach and fruit, great nose, and a solid beer.
Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2013) | February 25th, 2014 |
2014-02-25 Coffee has (I'm guessing) fallen off a bit, but it's still there, and quite good. I think the BCBS Coffee last night was a bit better, but if I'd had this fresh I think it's be right up there.
Drank 750 ml of Lolita by Goose Island Beer Co. (2013-06-18) | February 25th, 2014 |
2014-02-25 Funk in the nose with a little fruit, and some great fruit on the palate, delicious. |
