Drank 12 oz of Anniversary Ale by Short's Brewing Company (2013) | February 25th, 2014 |
2014-02-25 Nose is yeast, alcohol, and mild citrus. On the palate I get fruit and citrus up front, followed by a sharp bitterness (not hoppy, more like tart fruit), some guava, and it finishes kind of like fruit juice. Not bad for a wheat wine, though something like White Oak is better.
Drank 750 ml of Tumescence by The Bruery (2013-12-30) | February 24th, 2014 |
2014-03-16 Tons of fruit, and a great rind-like bitterness on the finish that pairs well with the mango and fruit. Not sure why it's got such a low rating, great beer.
2014-03-07 Still fruity, still tasty, great and easy drinker.
2014-02-24 Lots of fruit, Belgian saison spice, and sugar in the nose, milder on all counts on the palate but a pleasant mix. An enjoyable beer, though doubt it will do much with time, should drink them sooner than later.
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2013-11-15) | February 24th, 2014 |
2015-06-26 Still a surprising amount of coffee, and tasting great, thick, not too hot, and that great BCBS stout character. Still digging it.
2015-01-23 Tasting great, though as expected a bit muted on the coffee compared to drinking it fresh.
2014-12-24 Much sweeter than remembered, though not in a bad way, coffee definitely subdued but still present in the nose and on the backend, has some of that BCBW marshmellow I remember too. Tasting great.
2014-02-24 Still great, lots of coffee on the nose and on the palate, and so drinkable for the ABV, hardly any heat. A great blend.
2013-12-13 Sooo much coffee presence, delicious and up front, much better than the 2012 bottle opened a while back. Superb and not grounds-like, just a great blend, should drink another soon.
Drank 750 ml of The Wanderer by The Bruery (2013-10-24) | February 23rd, 2014 |
2021-06-18 Maybe gone a little over but still not bad. Tart, a bit astringent, not too much overt fruit.
2014-11-16 Great fruit character and suuuuper tart, a great beer as always.
2014-02-23 Tart nose, mild raspberry and fruit flavor on the palate and a lot of yeast character and funk. Not super funky funk, but a decent bit of milder funk. A good beer, though perhaps slightly overrated.
Drank 22 oz of Mogli by Caldera Brewing (2013) | February 18th, 2014 |
2014-02-18 Lots of chocolate, a fair bit of anise but not too much, a some good bitterness on the finish. Solid.
Drank 750 ml of Hopocalypse Black Label by Drake's Brewing Co. (2014-02) | February 5th, 2014 |
2014-02-05 Good but not great, a bit sweet as with last year, though perhaps a bit better this year.
Drank 375 ml of Beatification by Russian River Brewing Company (2013-09-11) | February 2nd, 2014 |
2014-02-02 So great. A hint of sweetness up front and then on the finish, with an amazing funk/sour in the middle. So well balanced, the Somnambic really shines through. Love this beer.
Drank 750 ml of Reuze by The Bruery (2013-08-25) | February 2nd, 2014 |
2017-04-30 Not as amazingly puckering as the 2012, but still quite good!
2014-02-02 Super solid, more carbonated than the 2012 version, lots of sour, not much funk. A good take on the style in an American sense.
Drank 750 ml of Gillian by Goose Island Beer Co. (2013-09-11) | February 2nd, 2014 |
2014-02-02 Amazing! Need to grab another. Great funk, great zest, and some amazing peppery and brett notes in there. Probably not worth $30, but still, an amazing beer.
Drank 750 ml of Autumn Maple (Bourbon Barrel Aged) by The Bruery (2013-09-20) | February 2nd, 2014 |
2014-02-02 Surprisingly not sour! Great bourbon and vanilla were the main components, the yamminess was mostly covered up, enjoyed this much more than the regular.
Drank 375 ml of Framboise For A Cure by Russian River Brewing Company (2013-10) | January 27th, 2014 |
2014-05-27 Still delicious, a little less fruit than before but can't help but love this beer.
2014-01-27 Still great, love this beer. Color is awesome, still lots of fruit in the nose and on the palette, amazing. Wish this was a regular for them.
Drank 750 ml of Tout Mais Le Coller by The Bruery (2013-11-19) | January 17th, 2014 |
2014-01-17 Lots of orange, surprising amount of bitterness as well, nice creamy mouthfeel. Good but not great, though they do nail the orange creamsicle profile.
Drank 750 ml of Seviin by Surly Brewing Co. (2013) | January 17th, 2014 |
2014-01-17 Somewhat straightforward Belgian ale, not amazing but not bad.
Drank 750 ml of Mocha Wednesday by The Bruery (2013-12-24) | January 11th, 2014 |
2017-04-30 Coffee substantially subdued but still there in a muted way, and surprising amount of heat left in this beer otherwise!
2014-11-16 Still great, coffee is fading but overall such a balanced beer for the ABV. Not sad to have two more.
2014-01-11 Great bourbon, chocolate, and malt notes up front, with some rich coffee texture and flavor on the finish. Definitely more drinkable than Black Tuesday.
Drank 650 ml of Black Butte XXIII by Deschutes Brewery (2011) | January 7th, 2014 |
2014-01-07 Not bad, lots of toast, coffee, malt, and bitter chocolate. Best aspect is that it's somewhat complex for the style and it still works. |
