Drank 750 ml of Floyd D'Rue by The Bruery (2014-03-07) | April 25th, 2014 |
2014-04-25 I see what people mean calling this a mess, though I didn't find it that bad, just a TON of booze (rum and spice) up front, with a more typical Bruery stout finish. Too bad this one can't be set down for some extended aging.
Drank 750 ml of MischMishMish by The Bruery (2014) | April 25th, 2014 |
2014-05-23 Still great, lots of apricot and tiny but of brett character.
2014-04-25 Awesome beer, still bummed I couldn't get more. Basically tastes like Mischief with apricots added (which I'd wager is the actual deal with this beer). Hope it becomes a standard.
Drank 12 oz of Ken Schmidt / Iron Fist / Stone Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout by Stone Brewing (2012) | April 15th, 2014 |
2015-10-10 Still lots of mint! Hope they do this beer again, super delicious.
2014-05-25 Still lots of mint, dark chocolate, very little booziness. Love it.
2014-04-15 Tasting great, very much like a peppermint patty with lots of chocolate and a subtle amount of mint. Great beer, glad I grabbed extras.
2013-10-08 The mint is possibly fading a tad, but still an amazingly delicious beer. So well done.
2013-03-29 This beer is amazing. The mint works so well. Wish I had more in the cellar than just two!
2013-01-09 This was delicious! Was scared mint would overwhelm, but was extremely subtle and a perfect compliment. Should age well, must resist temptation to drink them all now.
Drank 22 oz of Imperial Russian Stout by Stone Brewing (2014) | April 15th, 2014 |
2014-04-15 Quite good, lots of roast coffee, toffee, perhaps a bit of anise in the nose but none on the palate thankfully. Imagine this will settle well with time.
Drank 22 oz of Elder Brett: Saison-Brett Golden Ale by Epic Brewing Company (2013) | April 12th, 2014 |
Drank 750 ml of Brux Domesticated Wild Ale by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2012) | April 12th, 2014 |
2013-06-19 Mild, brett nose, and a delicious mix of sweetness and brett funk on the palate; this second tasting is better than I remember the first being.
2012-12-28 First tasting was solid, with mild sourness. Don't mix with other beers, will overwhelm. Definite wild ale mouthfeel.
Drank 12 oz of Bishop's Barrel 4 by Saint Arnold Brewing Company (2013-07-26) | April 12th, 2014 |
2014-04-12 Interesting beer, kind of a weird mix with the overtly Belgian aroma mixing with the typical wheat and bock flavors, but not bad. Lots of barrel too, with a little heat.
Drank 750 ml of Urban Farmhouse Ale by The Commons Brewery (2014) | April 12th, 2014 |
2014-04-12 Part of the bottle was frozen, but a lot of the beer was still salvageable, and it was delicious! Light, frothy, really pleasant saison without much funk or farmhouse.
Drank 750 ml of Fleur De Ferme by The Commons Brewery (2014) | April 12th, 2014 |
2014-04-12 Dark saison like beer with some interesting floral notes (probably the lavender and hibiscus), not bad but not as good as their regular saison.
Drank 375 ml of Ovila Abbey Quad with Plums by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2013) | April 12th, 2014 |
2014-04-12 Has held up quite well, though not as much fruit as I remember, which is to be expected. I do feel like the Westvelteren 12 holds up better.
2013-08-22 Tasty! Plums have faded a it, but still a solid Belgian quad.
2013-02-17 Dark fruit smokiness, delicious, lingering. Must get more!
Drank 750 ml of Strawberry by Cascade Brewing (2012) | April 10th, 2014 |
2014-04-10 Absolutely delicious, probably my favorite of the first three Cascade bottles we've opened. Perfect amount of fruit and sour, still great strawberry flavors all throughout. Wish I had a couple more.
Drank 650 ml of Parabola by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2014) | April 9th, 2014 |
2017-08-19 The bottle I didn't realize I had! Was great, a nice midpoint age-wise, tasting great with a bit more chocolate and malt character.
2016-12-03 The best of the evening, delicious as always.
2014-04-09 Great, not much booze at all with lots of coffee and some caramel this time as we'll. Delicous.
Drank 750 ml of Blueberry Ale by Cascade Brewing (2013) | April 8th, 2014 |
2014-04-08 Not bad, fun fruitiness up front, though a tad medicinal on the finish.
Drank 12 oz of World Wide Stout by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (2013-12-11) | April 5th, 2014 |
2015-03-08 Delicious, chocolate, malt, smoke, and roasted character going on. Love this beer. A hint of alcohol in there too.
2014-04-05 Super solid, no way this is 18%, had the whole bottle myself.
Drank 750 ml of Kriek Ale by Cascade Brewing (2013) | April 5th, 2014 |
2014-04-05 Great, really fresh, perfect balance of tartness and fruit.
2013-10-13 Mix of cherries and tartness in the nose, dark color, some cherry up front but subsides to mostly tartness very quickly. Delicious, great right now in terms of fruit/tart balance.
2013-07-15 Absolutely delicious kriek, perfect balance of tart and cherry characteristics. Extremely drinkable, and deserving of the BA score. |
