Drank 750 ml of Smoking Wood (Bourbon Barrel Aged) by The Bruery (2013) | August 3rd, 2014 |
2014-08-03 Much better than regular Smoking Wood, the smoke makes a nice backdrop for the pronounced barrel notes, a great take on a porter, and hides the alcohol well.
2013-08-23 Zero head, very little carbonation, sweet, oak, and bourbon up front, and lots of smokiness on the finish. Not bad.
Drank 750 ml of Oude Tart by The Bruery (2012) | August 3rd, 2014 |
2014-08-03 Tart, some fruit, lots of barrel, delicious.
2013-04-13 Tartness, oak in nose, vinous tartness, good and quite tart Flanders!
Drank 12 oz of Mephistopheles Stout by Avery Brewing Company (2012-11) | August 2nd, 2014 |
2014-08-02 Bit of a sharp nose, maybe some cacao nibs? Same on the palate, with a bit more roastiness, hides the alcohol well but nothing outstanding in the profile, either. Not bad, not great.
Drank 12 oz of Cerise Sour Blonde by Almanac Beer Co. (2014-07) | August 1st, 2014 |
2014-08-01 Nice fruit presence in the nose, but a big hit of diacetyl on the palate, definitely an unpleasant butteriness. Bummer.
Drank 16 oz of Pliny the Elder by Russian River Brewing Company (2014-07-29) | July 31st, 2014 |
2014-07-31 Not as potent as expected, perhaps, but still great.
Drank 12 oz of Farmer's Reserve Blackberry by Almanac Beer Co. (2014-04) | July 29th, 2014 |
2015-11-07 A little more fruit than the Citrus, not bad.
2014-07-29 Delicious, tart up front with a solid fruit presence and a balanced mouthfeel and taste. Follows the typical Almanac profile, quite tasty.
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2013-10-11) | July 29th, 2014 |
2021-04-07 Definitely oxidized with a lot of raisin on the nose, but holds up pretty well, if still quite boozy.
2014-07-29 Delicious as always, perfect balance and so little heat for the strength, love this stout.
Drank 22 oz of Santa's Little Helper - Oak Barrel Aged by Port Brewing Company (2013) | July 18th, 2014 |
2014-07-18 Thin dark brown head, nice aroma, good amounts of chocolate, a tiny bit of heat. Solid but not mind blowing.
Drank 12 oz of Blackout Stout by Great Lakes Brewing (2012) | July 15th, 2014 |
2014-07-15 A little sharp on the nose, mild coffee and some carbonation and malt on the palate, pretty good!
Drank 500 ml of Dauenhauer by Sonoma Pride (2013-10-15) | July 12th, 2014 |
2020-02-28 Basically all Brett, but pretty good. Pablo said it reminded him of old Alaskan Brewing beers. Honestly better than I remember my initial impressions being.
2014-08-29 Better than the last time, perhaps overridden by previous hopped beers, but tasty funk, nice sweetness, overall a good one.
2014-08-23 Funkier than the last bottle, an interesting mix of farmhouse, funk, and malt sweetness.
2014-07-12 More esters than Amasa, less head, more malt character, less citrus. Also quite drinkable, very tasty, though Amasa was probably more fun.
Drank 500 ml of Amasa by Sonoma Pride (2013-12-20) | July 12th, 2014 |
2020-02-28 Really weird and funky nose, but a straight up delicious Brett beer on the palate, extremely clean with a little fruitiness on the finish. Crowd favorite of the two (against Dauh)..
2014-08-26 Still delicious.
2014-08-23 Still delicious and my favorite of the two Sonoma Pride releases, great hop aroma and flavor, and a great mix of funk.
2014-07-12 Fluffy white head, tasty Brett grain and sweetness, mild maltiness, and well carbonated. Eminently drinkable, tasty.
Drank 750 ml of Mrs. Stoutfire by The Bruery (2013-02-15) | July 11th, 2014 |
2014-07-11 Still tasty, much better than Smoking Wood, the smokiness is subdued but present, nice malt and stout characteristics.
2013-08-04 Still a nice smokiness, tastes like barbecue, I like it.
2013-04-26 Super smokey! Barbecue on the finish, quite good, will get more for Cami.
Drank 12 oz of Farmer's Reserve Citrus by Almanac Beer Co. (2014) | July 11th, 2014 |
2015-11-07 Fruit pretty much done, just tasted like a straightforward Almanac sour, so so.
2014-07-11 Tons of citrus, like orange juice in some ways, very tasty!
Drank 375 ml of Lil' Opal by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2014) | July 1st, 2014 |
2017-08-19 Had a tiny taste; was great, love the mellowness.
2014-07-01 Not bad! Pretty straightforward, nice brett character with a little sweetness and some grain. Tasty.
Drank 750 ml of Cerasus by Logsdon Farmhouse Ales (2013) | June 29th, 2014 |
2014-06-29 Fruit has fallen off a bit, but not bad, though not great either.
2013-04-16 Mild nose, decent amount of cherry initially and then some vinous flavors on the finish. Pretty good, very well balanced for a kriek, sort of straddling the Flanders and Kriek styles. |
