Drank 750 ml of State Pen Imperial Porter by Santa Fe Brewing Company (2008) | July 1st, 2020 |
2020-07-01 Had another but forgot to record it. What can you say? 12 year old Porter that did not totally suck. Decent looks, some head and lacing. Nose a bit off, oxidation affecting it and taste. Glad to try and glad it's gone.
Drank 750 ml of BPA by Brewery Ommegang (2011-07-22) | June 30th, 2020 |
2020-06-30 The end of an era. Not great, drank the whole thing. Way past its prime.
2020-04-29 Over the hill but drinkable. Surprisingly drinkable.
Drank 750 ml of Wytchmaker Farmhouse Rye IPA by Jester King Craft Brewery (2016-05-23) | June 23rd, 2020 |
2023-07-29 Poolside enjoyment
2020-06-23 Similar to recent May tasting. No issues, great taste and looks.
2020-05-06 Big pillow head, golden approaching amber color. Musty nose, barnyard, mineral. Taste includes a but of grass, lactic, bitter, and malt brings some decent body.
Drank 500 ml of Aurelian Lure by Jester King Craft Brewery (2015-08) | June 18th, 2020 |
2020-06-18 Simply the best. Jester King beers age amazingly. Peach highly present with exceptional base of funk and sour. 7 of 7 ladies enjoyed with me. Whoever said aging fruited sours is bad was wrong.
2018-08-23 Simply amazing and still showing fruit at this age.
Drank 22 oz of The Coqui by Pipeworks Brewing Company (2014) | June 18th, 2020 |
2020-06-18 Batch 329. Very dark brown pour to tulip, no head or lacing. Nose of vanilla, spice, rum. Taste a touch boozy, spice melds well with the potato and rum. Interesting body that is approaching heavy and works well with the sweetness.
Drank 500 ml of Prairie Gold by Prairie Artisan Ales | June 17th, 2020 |
2020-06-17 The biggest gusher of my life! Could not get to the sink fast enough. Tiny bit hazy golden, no head retention or lacing. Funky citrus nose, mild ripened cheese, smoke. Taste has wood, tart, funk, some oxidation. Love it!
Drank 750 ml of Detritivore by Jester King Craft Brewery (2016-07-07) | June 12th, 2020 |
2021-10-31 Lovely, still good cherry flavors. Tempered sourness
2020-06-12 Loved by the ladies and men. Fruit still showing, and sourness very low.
2018-09-13 Very good. Dove camp.
2017-12-04 Cherry still coming through and quite enjoyable. A bit more tart since release.
Drank 12 oz of Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Barleywine by Central Waters Brewing Company (2016) | June 5th, 2020 |
2020-07-12 Finishing these off. Nothing special at this point.
2020-06-05 Got better as it warmed. Oxidation setting in.

2023-07-18 Better than expected. Very enjoyable. Slight off taste at the end
2022-12-29 Enjoyed at HCBS #10. So good we had to drink 2. Surprised a few on how well the smoke and peat work with the BA stout. No significant issues with slight oxidation.

Drank 750 ml of Bourbon Barrel Golden One by Anthem Brewing Company (2016) | June 2nd, 2020 |
2020-06-02 Not sure this beer ever was great. Hard to tell now. Near still, barrel notes present, but the finish has something off, maybe oxidation.
Drank 12 oz of Thumbprint Enigma by New Glarus Brewing Company | May 17th, 2020 |
2020-05-17 Super sour. Notes of cinnamon along with acetic sour. Nails the style to the extreme.
Drank 750 ml of Farmhouse Ale Co-Fermented with Texas Blueberries by Jester King Craft Brewery (2020-04) | May 12th, 2020 |
2020-05-12 Translucent purple color, near still, no head. Funky nose blends blueberry fruit and mild cheese. Taste has that bit of funky cheese characteristic with great depths of fruit notes in addition to blueberry, such as plum. Rather dry and lacking carbonation.
Drank 12 oz of Bishop's Barrel 9 by Saint Arnold Brewing Company (2015-03-27) | May 11th, 2020 |
2023-04-28 Held up very well. Balanced spice and a bit of barrel.
2020-05-11 Loving it. Close to still.
2020-02-27 Super spicy and super good. No real signs of oxidation. Spices strong and very enjoyable.
Drank 375 ml of Abbaye De Saint Bon-Chien Grand Cru 2014 (Sparkling Wine) by Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes (2014) | May 8th, 2020 |
2022-02-25 Not much hiss on the pop. Slight head on coppery red ale. Lots of wine on nose, cherries. Taste leading with cherries and very sour with acetic, funky notes and a bit of a sweet finish. Mild carbonation stingy with the sour on a medium body. Held up incredibility well.
2020-05-08 Totally still. Mixed sour flavors. |
