Drank 375 ml of Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition Vanilla & Coffee Bean by Jackie O's Pub & Brewery (2018) | November 1st, 2024 |
2024-11-01 Pours near black with no discernable head. Nose great blend of bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate but not much coffee (bottle is several years old). Love the taste, bourbon is popping out with well balanced coffee and dark chocolate. Sweetness is restrained but so is the bigger body. Not thick but a good body with very light carbonation.
Drank 12 oz of Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (2017) | October 29th, 2024 |
2024-10-29 2017 bottle. Pours black with no head. Nose has great blend of vanilla and chocolate notes with a hint of cherry. Taste is amazing bringing out the oak and highlighting the vanilla on the big base with other berry flavors of raspberry, mild strawberry. Body is as big as it gets and is the best of any ale out there. Carbonation is near zero, and that's ok. Age has done this one well at 7 years.
2022-12-21 Enjoying this much more than I previously did. Great body backing up a vanilla and boozy base.

2024-10-20 Enjoyed with Patrick at F1. Seems bigger body and sweetness than previous releases. Not quite as boozy. Smooter with more chocolate.
Drank 500 ml of Bourbon County Two-Year Eagle Rare Reserve Stout (2023) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2023) | October 19th, 2024 |
2024-10-19 Enjoyed with Patrick at F1. Pours black with no head. Nose mostly roasted barley with hints of wood and vanilla. Taste adds the bourbon note, sweetness as well in that bourbon marries well with the base sweetness, coffee. Deep wood flavor mingles throughout the tasting experience. Big body along with some booziness, very low carbonation.

2024-10-19 Enjoyed with Patrick at F1. Everything as to be expected from DL. Dark with no real head. Light nose, molasses. Big flavors of dark malt, molasses, some vanilla, deep richness. Big body and low carbonation.
