Drank 500 ml of Proprietor's Bourbon County Brand Stout (2022) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2022)October 19th, 2025

Enjoyed at F1 with Patrick. Near black pour with thin brown head, no retention. Like a pina/banana colada in a BCBS. Banana prominent on nose. Great general BCBS flavors, but that juice and coconut really shine. Sweetness plays off each other. Lingering fruits on finish. Big body and light carbonation.
Drank 500 ml of Bourbon County Two-Year Eagle Rare Reserve Stout (2023) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2023)October 18th, 2025

Enjoyed a COTA for F1 with Patrick. Excellent BCBS, but not sure just how different it is in Eagle Rare vs standard Will do a blind taste for the final bottle.

Enjoyed with Patrick at F1. Pours black with no head. Nose mostly roasted barley with hints of wood and vanilla. Taste adds the bourbon note, sweetness as well in that bourbon marries well with the base sweetness, coffee. Deep wood flavor mingles throughout the tasting experience. Big body along with some booziness, very low carbonation.
Drank 750 ml of Chemtrailmix by Three Floyds Brewing (2023)October 17th, 2025
2025-10-17
Black motor oil pour, no head. Nose a bit light, maybe a touch or raisins. Cinnamon leads the taste on the big base beer for a chocolate donut with cinnamon effect. Searching but not finding peppercorn. Body is huge with almost no carbonation.
Drank 750 ml of Halia by Goose Island Beer Co. (2015)October 4th, 2025

Had at Blast n Cast. Decent peach and farmhouse flavors but too sour to enjoy more than a few sips.
Drank 22 oz of Raspberry Temptress by Lakewood Brewing CoOctober 3rd, 2025

Enjoyed at SPI for Blast n Cast. Stored for around 5 years at cellar temp. Held up very well with much raspberry and chocolate flavor. Dark pour and a decent beige head. Great body and good lingering finish.

Drank 16 oz of Darkness - Barrel Aged by Surly Brewing Co. (2023)September 26th, 2025
2025-09-26
Pours opaque black with thick beige head and great retention/lacing. Nose surprisingly grainy, cocoa puffs, woody, and mild bourbon. Taste is also toasty grain forward with molasses, mild anise, and bourbon with detectable booziness. Big body and carries some sweetness along with much more carbonation that typical of the style.

Tiki Party. Finishes like finger paint per Alec, and I agree. Many other notes of sweet and subtle spice.

Drank 375 ml of Lips Of Faith - Le Terroir by New Belgium Brewing (2020)August 3rd, 2025

Enjoyed at HCBS #33. Came in with more wood and slightly less sour than 2025. Less balanced than 2015.
