Drank 12 oz of Galaxy Hero by Revolution Brewing LLC (2017-03-16) | April 11th, 2017 |
2017-04-11 Nice east coast hop profile, perhaps a bit too much yeast presence (especially for a filtered beer), but not bad.
Drank 750 ml of Sour in the Rye by The Bruery (2012-11-30) | April 10th, 2017 |
2017-04-10 Coming off Pablo's sour, but not as tart as I remember. A good bit of malt, some mellow rye presence and accompanying spice. Pretty good, though maybe a tad malty.
Drank 750 ml of With Friends Like These by De Garde Brewing (2017) | April 8th, 2017 |
2017-04-08 Really pleasant tartness and a mellow profile, a lovely grape sweetness rounds things out. Delicious!
Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2017) | April 8th, 2017 |
2017-04-08 Dark and delicious chocolate notes, a bit of barrel, and a lot of char. Tasty! Could probably let it get even warmer.
Drank 12 oz of Le Tub by Whiner Beer Co. (2016) | April 4th, 2017 |
2017-04-04 Light, crisp, mild funk and farmhouse with a hint of tartness. Funk is bigger in the nose than on the palate. Quaffable!
Drank 750 ml of Sofie by Goose Island Beer Co. (2016) | April 4th, 2017 |
2017-04-04 Not tart at all; a really nice malt character is forward, with the teensiest bit of funk, coupled with mild citrus notes. Great beer, age seems perfect.
Drank 12 oz of Chocolate Milk Stout by 4 Hands Brewing Co. (2016) | April 4th, 2017 |
2017-04-04 Straightforward, light stout with some nice cocoa bitterness.
Drank 750 ml of Feed The Monster by The Rare Barrel (2015-08-19) | April 2nd, 2017 |
2017-11-05 Extremely tart thanks to the blueberry presence, amazing color, and quite tasty. Probably least favorite fruit adjunct of the night though, as it mostly expresses as acidity.
2017-04-02 Clean, nice funk in the Rare Barrel style, and still a good bit of tart fruit there as well.
Drank 750 ml of Impossible Soul by The Rare Barrel (2015-05-20) | January 6th, 2017 |
2017-11-05 Cherries very astringent and present here still, with the tart cherries dominating. Quite good!
2017-01-06 Lots of fruit, great pucker, all around solid sour with the typical Rare Barrel profile. Digging it.
Drank 750 ml of Black Tuesday by The Bruery (2013-09-13) | December 25th, 2016 |
2017-04-30 Still pretty hot, surprisingly, but has held up well. A hell of a big first sip.
2016-12-25 Marshall drank this one in San Diego.
2016-01-09 Big, boozy, that same BT that we know and love. Great to share with a big group.
2013-11-30 Huge and in your face with the bourbon, the barrel, and lots of malty coffee and roasted chocolate flavors. A slow sipper with a lite heat, and delicious. Lives up to the reputation.
Drank 750 ml of 10 Commandments by The Lost Abbey (2009) | December 21st, 2016 |
2016-12-21 Still weird, and not so good. Too sweet up front followed by too herby on the backend. Oh well.
2013-07-04 Weird! Not bad but... Weird. Best description.
Drank 650 ml of Imperial Eclipse Stout - Elijah Craig (12 Year) by FiftyFifty Brewing Co. (2012) | December 20th, 2016 |
2016-12-20 Huge chocolate, fudge, some bourbon character but without the heat. Has aged amazingly, tasting great.
Drank 12 oz of Doggie Claws by Hair of the Dog Brewing Company (2012) | December 20th, 2016 |
2016-12-20 A biscuit like nose, pretty mild on the palate, barleywine up front with more bread as it progresses. Not great.
2013-12-06 Tons of yeast, swirling clouds of it, prevalent in the nose as well, no booze but some nice sweetness on the palate, not bad but not stellar.
Drank 12 oz of Oude Freakcake by Crux Fermentation Project (2013-11-29) | December 20th, 2016 |
2016-12-20 17% fruity, 37% funk, but the actual taste is mild, with a hint of bitterness and slight sediment. Overall, I am displeased. I suffer.
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2012-07-21) | December 18th, 2016 |
2016-12-18 Amazing nose (sweet, malty), thick and sumptuous on the palate, but a really balanced profile, plus a bit of heat on the backend. Oxidation barely noticeable for a 2012 bottle; great stuff. |
