Drank 12 oz of Hazel's Nuts by Odd Side Ales (2016-09-22) | June 24th, 2017 |
2017-06-24 Holy nuts Batman! Lots o' nuts up front, lots o' nuts in back. Nuts all around really, which unfortunately turns into a strange nutty morass of weird flavors. Marshall adds: "tastes like old milk". Quite the endorsement.
Drank 22 oz of Rue d'Floyd by Three Floyds Brewing (2017-03-03) | June 24th, 2017 |
2017-06-24 Sort of weird up front, possibly the cherry asserting itself, but then mellows out a bit into a chocolatey, coffee-flavored stout. Not bad but not great.
Drank 750 ml of Kriek by Une Année (2017) | June 9th, 2017 |
2017-06-09 Nice tartness with a mild cherry backing. Cami drank most of it.
Drank 750 ml of Sourtooth Tiger by The Rare Barrel (2016-09-08) | May 30th, 2017 |
2017-11-05 A lot more tart than the '14 Sourtooth, probably due to batch differences, though the former may have mellowed with age. A little too sharp but that's just me disliking the ginger, mostly.
2017-05-30 Some sour, some ginger. Actually quite nice, once the initial ginger finish wore off.
Drank 750 ml of Swarmbox by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2017) | May 28th, 2017 |
2017-05-28 Super prominent honey with a mildly funky backend. Not the best Sante ever but still quite solid.
Drank 650 ml of Wake-n-Bake Cinnamon Roll'd by Terrapin Beer Company (2015) | May 7th, 2017 |
2017-05-07 Good amount of cinnamon, otherwise some nice barrel and bourbon notes. Not bad but also not a stellar stout for the category.
Drank 22 oz of Last Snow by Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery (2016) | May 7th, 2017 |
2017-05-07 Way too much coconut for me to like it, coffee was pretty mild, but the other folks really enjoyed it! Fun for coconut heads.
Drank 750 ml of 2010 Vintage Oak Aged Ale (Barrel No. 144) by Brouwerij Rodenbach (2010) | May 7th, 2017 |
2017-05-07 Smells sour but super mild on the palate, amazing notes of apple, candy, super mellow funk, and wine like profile. Amazingly complex beer that works amazingly well.
2014-05-22 This beer is so great. So mellow, perfect tartness on the finish, and such leathery, oaky flavors throughout. Could drink this all day.
Drank 750 ml of Westly by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2017) | May 6th, 2017 |
2017-05-06 Great pucker and LOTS of apricot. Lives up to the hype. Wish there were more!
Drank 750 ml of White Chocolate by The Bruery (2014-08-08) | April 30th, 2017 |
Drank 750 ml of Tart of Darkness by The Bruery (2014-05-01) | April 30th, 2017 |
2017-04-30 Super tart, quite good.
Drank 750 ml of Tart of Darkness by The Bruery (2013-05-13) | April 30th, 2017 |
2013-08-22 Such a great sour stout, awesome fruit notes in the nose and on the palate, coupled with a well balanced tartness and mild stout characteristics. Delicious.
Drank 750 ml of Sucré - Tequila by The Bruery (2014-03-25) | April 30th, 2017 |
Drank 750 ml of Sucré - Tawny Port by The Bruery (2014-03-08) | April 30th, 2017 |
2024-12-21 Tastes like Sucre! The port aspects I remember from drinking fresh were nowhere near as prevalent, but the beer has held up amazingly. Great in small pours.
2017-04-30 Still probably my favorite variant; about the only one I'm happy to have another of!
Drank 750 ml of Sucré - Rye by The Bruery (2014-03-24) | April 30th, 2017 |
