Super smooth, complex, boozy, chocolatey, and delicious. Left it a bit warmer than usual and that allows the flavors I love to shine right away.

Very dark, lots of dark chocolate and sweetness. I think this one was best fresh.

Mmmm. Welcome back my old friend. This is the BC I fell in love with but haven’t had since 2014. Dark, malty, bourbony booziness. Yum

This one has not held up as well as others. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and while there’s barrel left on it, there’s a hint of bitterness as well. Hoping it gets better as it warms.

With Phil in Colorado during steak night.

Drank 16 oz of Reserve Rye Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2019-09-02)December 12th, 2021
2021-12-12
Bourbon County Vertical 2021 Better than I remembered it being.
2019-12-22
Good, but I’m a little disappointed. I expected far more distinguishing characteristics, but it feels thinner and is slightly bitter.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Barleywine (2017) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2017-10-06)December 12th, 2021
2023-12-27
Really damn good. Holding up great.
2021-12-12
Bourbon County Vertical 2021 So good. I hope they make these again someday.
2020-12-27
Wow, this has aged nicely. Lots of sweet caramel and toffee, with a hint of roasted malt at the end. The 14.4% ABV isn’t obvious. Looking forward to opening another next year.
2017-11-28
More caramel and darker than usual. I think this will age well.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2018-09-04)December 12th, 2021
2021-12-12
Bourbon County Vertical 2021 Still tons of vanilla.
2021-06-21
Crazy amount of vanilla.
2020-05-25
Each one I open has a varying amount of vanilla. This one is like chugging a bottle of vanilla extract; a bit heavy.
2020-03-24
Vanilla is still very prominent. The original recipe comes in with rich chocolate and malt on the finish.
2018-11-25
Oh wow it that a lot of vanilla that hits right away! Yum. Then the really dark malty, chocolatey flavor from the stout comes in, followed by the booziness of the bourbon barrels. Excellent!
Drank 16 oz of Fog Nog by Abomination Brewing (2021-11-24)December 5th, 2021
2021-12-05
Just a slight hint of spices, so not overpowering. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Slight bitterness, which I wish was a bit less intense. Tropical fruit flavors.
Drank 16 oz of BA Coconut Drip by Finback Brewery (2021)December 5th, 2021
2022-05-27
Velvety, coconut, and coffee with plenty of barrel. This is a special treat that I wish I could get more of.
2021-12-05
So damn good. Coconut is subtle, but detectable and lingers on the finish. Very velvety mouthfeel - amazing. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Rich and decadent.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Double Barrel Toasted Barrel Stout (2021) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2021-07-20)November 26th, 2021
2023-11-03
I have to say this seems better than I remember. Lots of barrel. On the negative side, it’s one of the thinnest BCs.
2022-09-01
Lots of barrel in this, but I really don’t think it’s all that different from the regular BC, except perhaps depth of flavor. Same flavors, just amped up a bit.
2021-11-26
I wanted to love this more. Lots of barrel. Reminds me of a Reserve, but smoother. A bit of sharpness on the front, that melts into a smooth bourbon Kentucky hug on the finish. Sadly not tasting anything from the toasted barrels.
Drank Willettized Coffee Stout by Lagunitas Brewing Company (2020)November 14th, 2021
2022-12-26
Held up well. Plenty of coffee and barrel, though seems like very little carbonation.
2021-03-16
Really roasty and whiskey is well pronounced. Dark chocolate flavors also present.
Drank 16 oz of Abuse of Powder - Cashmere by Destination Unknown Beer Company (2020-11-12)November 7th, 2021
2021-11-07
Better than I remember. Have to get more of this.
2021-02-24
Very light, nice flavor. Would buy again.

Sadly not as good as 2016, which was not as good as 2015. This has an odd flavor profile and nose. Hoping my other bottles are better.
Drank 12 oz of Pump[KY]n by Avery Brewing Company (2016-08-16)October 22nd, 2021
2021-10-22
Has held up very well. Boozy and sweet. Still taste the pumpkin and the barrel. Leaves a warmth in the back of the throat.
2017-02-01
Crazy sweet and boozy. Pumpkin is prominent flavor. Interesting.
Drank 25 oz of CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2017)October 6th, 2021

Beer share at Mike R’s. Really good, as usual
2017-12-01
Tastes just like KBS to me so far. Gonna let it warm a bit. So far not getting any maple syrup flavor
