Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2018-02-26) | April 15th, 2022 |
2020-05-05 This hasn’t lost much of anything, save a little vanilla.
2020-04-12 Don’t taste any coffee on this one any longer. The 2019 I had earlier was much better.
2018-03-30 Good this year, though I’m less tolerant each year of the bitterness. If they reduced that, it would likely still be in my top 5.
Drank 12 oz of Chocolate Cherry Stout - Limited Release (2020) by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2020-10-09) | April 13th, 2022 |
2020-12-13 Lots of chocolate. Cherry is subtle. On the thin side, but good flavor.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout (2016) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2016-10-07) | April 7th, 2022 |
2023-12-10 Bourbon County Vertical 2023
2023-01-29 Starting to take on some aged characteristics, but not in a bad way.
2022-12-04 Bourbon County Vertical 2022
2022-04-07 This is really holding up very well. Lots of barrel, smooth/silky mouthfeel, and lots of chocolate and roasted malt.
2021-12-12 Bourbon County Vertical 2021
2020-12-05 Vertical 2020
2020-05-28 Has aged very well. Lots of dark, roasted malt and booziness.
2020-05-22 Lots of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Thin for BC.
2020-03-12 Put some cold brewed coffee in. yumm
2019-12-08 8 year vertical
2018-06-14 Really good, smooth, boozy, rich and roasty.
2016-12-01 Great fresh.
Drank 16 oz of Double Something Mosaic by Finback Brewery (2022-02-23) | March 30th, 2022 |
2022-03-30 Too much bitterness for my liking and no juicy qualities.
Drank 12 oz of Barrel Aged Coquito Stout by Blue Point Brewing | March 27th, 2022 |
2021-12-22 I get everything in the description, the barrel, Toasted Coconut, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Milk Sugar. I also get some dark chocolate. It’s a bit thinner than you’d expect, but it’s very interesting in a good way.
Drank 16 oz of Come Across by Finback Brewery (2022-02-24) | March 27th, 2022 |
2022-03-27 Strange aroma and flavor. Soapy and lemony.
Drank 22 oz of Stuck #3 by Sand City Brewing Co. (2022-02-04) | March 27th, 2022 |
2022-03-27 This is #3, chocolate maple stout. Very sweet. Not getting any chocolate, but maple is coming through. Very velvety.
Drank 12 oz of Panther Cub by Founders Brewing (2021-01-28) | March 24th, 2022 |
2022-03-24 Nice flavor up front, but the sweetness fades into bitterness. Very thin. Wouldn’t buy again.
2021-02-19 The only thing that says porter to me is that it’s thin. Besides that, it’s got many things I love in a barrel aged stout. While I like Underground Mountain Brown better (as a BA stout alt), this is one of the best porters I’ve had.
Drank Sorocide by Nightmare Brewing Company | March 22nd, 2022 |
2022-03-22 Bold, dark chocolate with subtle hint of the peanuts. Plenty of body, not thin.
Drank 16 oz of DDH Mylar Bags by Other Half Brewing Co. | March 20th, 2022 |
2022-03-20 Good, but nothing special. Not too bitter, decent flavor profile, but not my favorite.
Drank 16 oz of Midnight Beats: Blue by Finback Brewery (2021) | March 15th, 2022 |
2022-03-15 Very weird on the nose. Thankfully it tastes much better. Strong pineapple on the nose and chunky out of the bottle, but subtle pineapple taste. Thick and bold as I’ve come to expect from Finback BA stouts. Add flavor profile is similar to Goose I BC.
Drank 16 oz of Incarnation 2021 by Finback Brewery (2021) | March 12th, 2022 |
2022-10-07 Love the thickness/viscosity of the Finback BA stouts. World class. Tons of coffee, very sweet.
2022-03-12 A bit sweeter than I expected and more coffee on the nose than the palate. Super thick and yummy.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout Rare by Goose Island Beer Co. (2015-09-21) | March 12th, 2022 |
2022-03-12 Still holding up amazingly. Lots of sweet barrel goodness that lingers, and dark chocolate.
2020-06-14 This is in my opinion one of the best beers you can buy. I’m thankful to have been lucky enough to get a few bottles and am happy to say that this one has held up well, is not infected, and is the world class beer I remember when I first had it. Cheers! This is to celebrate paying off our mortgage!
2019-04-09 Not infected and held up amazingly well. No noticeable drop off in flavor since the last time I had one.
2017-12-31 So good, just like I remember it 2 years ago! Wow!
2016-04-16 Absolutely fantastic. Will definitely try to get more of this and age it. Very boozy but enjoyable. Sweet, smooth bourbon flavor really comes out nicely.
Drank 16 oz of Future Proof by Finback Brewery (2022-02-25) | March 10th, 2022 |
2022-03-10 Enjoyed this. Would buy again,
Drank 12 oz of Barrel Aged Moose Boots by Prairie Artisan Ales (2021-11-04) | March 6th, 2022 |
2022-03-06 This is really tasty. Not a ton of barrel up front, but lots of cocoa, dark malt, and a hint of sweetness, & a hint of the toasted almonds. The heat from the bourbon barrel comes in at the end and lingers nicely. Another really enjoyable beer by Prairie. |
