Drank 12 oz of Nemesis by Founders Brewing (2021-03-09)April 16th, 2021
2024-03-20
This tastes like someone mixed a barleywine with an extremely bitter, hoppy west coast IPA. Three years later and it hasn’t gotten any better. Will probably be a drain pour.
2021-04-16
Malty and hoppy.
Drank 25 oz of Three Philosophers by Brewery Ommegang (2011)April 3rd, 2021
2021-04-03
Held up really well despite most carbonation being gone.
2021-01-02
Held up amazingly well.
2020-04-19
Sadly there’s not much left to this after 9 years. Just a hint of tartness from the cherries on the finish.
Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2017-02-27)April 3rd, 2021
2021-08-11
Loss of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Has held up quite well.
2020-08-22
Gave to Stan Soroka as thank you for bourbon samples (Red Breast and New Riff)
2020-05-04
Starting to taste like KBS. I THINK 4 years is the longest without losing too much, but fresh is still best. Not much coffee left. Mostly roasted malt.

Sadly not as good as 2016, which was not as good as 2015. This has an odd flavor profile and nose. Hoping my other bottles are better.

Super smooth, complex, boozy, chocolatey, and delicious. Left it a bit warmer than usual and that allows the flavors I love to shine right away.

Very dark, lots of dark chocolate and sweetness. I think this one was best fresh.

Mmmm. Welcome back my old friend. This is the BC I fell in love with but haven’t had since 2014. Dark, malty, bourbony booziness. Yum
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout (2020) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2020-09-22)March 19th, 2021
2025-01-26
This one has not held up as well as others. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and while there’s barrel left on it, there’s a hint of bitterness as well. Hoping it gets better as it warms.

Drank Willettized Coffee Stout by Lagunitas Brewing Company (2020)March 16th, 2021
2022-12-26
Held up well. Plenty of coffee and barrel, though seems like very little carbonation.
2021-03-16
Really roasty and whiskey is well pronounced. Dark chocolate flavors also present.

Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2018-02-26)February 28th, 2021
2020-05-05
This hasn’t lost much of anything, save a little vanilla.
2020-04-12
Don’t taste any coffee on this one any longer. The 2019 I had earlier was much better.
2018-03-30
Good this year, though I’m less tolerant each year of the bitterness. If they reduced that, it would likely still be in my top 5.
Drank 16 oz of Eclipse - Barrel Cuvée by FiftyFifty Brewing Co. (2020-11-18)February 26th, 2021
2021-02-26
Been years since I’ve had an Eclipse and sadly, the bitterness factor hasn’t changed. I get a lot of dark chocolate and bourbon, but the lingering bitterness just makes it less enjoyable.
Drank 16 oz of Abuse of Powder - Cashmere by Destination Unknown Beer Company (2020-11-12)February 24th, 2021
2021-11-07
Better than I remember. Have to get more of this.
2021-02-24
Very light, nice flavor. Would buy again.

Drank 12 oz of Panther Cub by Founders Brewing (2021-01-28)February 19th, 2021
2022-03-24
Nice flavor up front, but the sweetness fades into bitterness. Very thin. Wouldn’t buy again.
2021-02-19
The only thing that says porter to me is that it’s thin. Besides that, it’s got many things I love in a barrel aged stout. While I like Underground Mountain Brown better (as a BA stout alt), this is one of the best porters I’ve had.
