Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Double Barrel Toasted Barrel Stout (2021) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2021-07-20) | November 26th, 2021 |
2023-11-03 I have to say this seems better than I remember. Lots of barrel. On the negative side, it’s one of the thinnest BCs.
2022-09-01 Lots of barrel in this, but I really don’t think it’s all that different from the regular BC, except perhaps depth of flavor. Same flavors, just amped up a bit.
2021-11-26 I wanted to love this more. Lots of barrel. Reminds me of a Reserve, but smoother. A bit of sharpness on the front, that melts into a smooth bourbon Kentucky hug on the finish. Sadly not tasting anything from the toasted barrels.
Drank Willettized Coffee Stout by Lagunitas Brewing Company (2020) | November 14th, 2021 |
2022-12-26 Held up well. Plenty of coffee and barrel, though seems like very little carbonation.
2021-03-16 Really roasty and whiskey is well pronounced. Dark chocolate flavors also present.
Drank 16 oz of Abuse of Powder - Cashmere by Destination Unknown Beer Company (2020-11-12) | November 7th, 2021 |
2021-11-07 Better than I remember. Have to get more of this.
2021-02-24 Very light, nice flavor. Would buy again.

2020-05-24 Held up very well. Sweet, lots of dark chocolate, booziness, and roasted malt.
2019-12-08 8 year vertical
2017-11-26 Sadly not as good as 2016, which was not as good as 2015. This has an odd flavor profile and nose. Hoping my other bottles are better.
Drank 12 oz of Pump[KY]n by Avery Brewing Company (2016-08-16) | October 22nd, 2021 |
2021-10-22 Has held up very well. Boozy and sweet. Still taste the pumpkin and the barrel. Leaves a warmth in the back of the throat.
2017-02-01 Crazy sweet and boozy. Pumpkin is prominent flavor. Interesting.
Drank 25 oz of CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2017) | October 6th, 2021 |
2020-01-21 Beer share at Mike R’s. Really good, as usual
2017-12-01 Tastes just like KBS to me so far. Gonna let it warm a bit. So far not getting any maple syrup flavor
Drank 16 oz of King Sue by Toppling Goliath (2021-07-08) | October 6th, 2021 |
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout (2016) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2016-10-07) | October 3rd, 2021 |
2023-12-10 Bourbon County Vertical 2023
2023-01-29 Starting to take on some aged characteristics, but not in a bad way.
2022-12-04 Bourbon County Vertical 2022
2022-04-07 This is really holding up very well. Lots of barrel, smooth/silky mouthfeel, and lots of chocolate and roasted malt.
2021-12-12 Bourbon County Vertical 2021
2020-12-05 Vertical 2020
2020-05-28 Has aged very well. Lots of dark, roasted malt and booziness.
2020-05-22 Lots of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Thin for BC.

2019-12-08 8 year vertical
2018-06-14 Really good, smooth, boozy, rich and roasty.
2016-12-01 Great fresh.
Drank 12 oz of Bottle Shop Series #2: Highball Drifter by Founders Brewing (2021-07-06) | September 27th, 2021 |
2021-09-27 Strong orange flavor. Not sure how else to describe the flavor. Definitely not one of my favorites.
Drank 12 oz of KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa by Founders Brewing (2021-09-02) | September 26th, 2021 |
2023-09-23 Strong cinnamon and dark chocolate.
2021-09-26 Seems a bit thin for a KBS. The cinnamon is a bit too strong, and translates into bitterness that lingers on the palate. Not really getting the cocoa either. Lastly, only a subtle hint of barrel.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Kentucky Fog Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2020-08-13) | September 15th, 2021 |
2021-01-07 Overwhelming earl gray tea flavor; not much else. Flavor doesn’t change much as it warms. Good, but in small doses.
Drank 16 oz of 7 Year Anniversary Stout by Finback Brewery (2021) | September 5th, 2021 |
2021-09-05 Nice dark, chocolatey, cocoa flavors and maybe a hint of cinnamon. More of the cocoa is evident on the back of the palette and lingers. While not thin, it’s not as syrupy and thick as I’d hoped. It’s also not as complex as I’d hoped. Good not great.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout (2017) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2017-07-28) | September 2nd, 2021 |

2017-11-26 Sadly not as good as 2016, which was not as good as 2015. This has an odd flavor profile and nose. Hoping my other bottles are better.
Drank 22 oz of Barrel Aged Blackout Stout by Great Lakes Brewing (2018) | August 26th, 2021 |
2021-08-26 Not as impressive as I’d hoped. Nose was off putting. Taste was pretty decent. Wouldn’t get again.
Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2017-02-27) | August 11th, 2021 |
2021-08-11 Loss of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Has held up quite well.
2020-08-22 Gave to Stan Soroka as thank you for bourbon samples (Red Breast and New Riff)
2020-05-04 Starting to taste like KBS. I THINK 4 years is the longest without losing too much, but fresh is still best. Not much coffee left. Mostly roasted malt. |
