The most quaffable scotch ale I have ever drunk. Finishes so clean, none of the dirty burnt caramel flavor that plagues some instances of the style. Reminds me of Traquair House Ale. Pleasant but not overbearing sweetness and light body. Can drink with just about anything, or pour as a patio beer.

Very sweet, I would have guessed north of 13%. Not as balanced as the exquisite 2016. A nice dessert beer with chocolate and booze. One to share with loved ones.

Not as good as the regular. As usual, subtraction by addition. Still quite good but I'm not buying 8 cans of it.

Very heavy on the apple from the Teku glass.

Blows me away, every time. The wrong food pairing can wreck this beer, though. First glass was amazing. After a salad with vinegar mustard dressing, all I could taste was the apples and a little cherry tart and cranberry sour.

Full flavored and well-balanced for 12%. Coffee and maple are just right. The coffee is a little more bitter than I prefer but not too bad. Reminiscent of a chocolate coffee ice cream. Smooths out and sweetens as it warms. Not as viscous as I was expecting. Has an oily residue. Smells like sweet coffee.

Fairly oxidized after 4.5 years. A little surprising, really, but it can happen. Not sweet or bitter, dry and a little chocolatey. It was good but not an accurate representation.
