Drank 16 oz of Fear.Movie.Lions by Stone Brewing (2020-04-15) | May 20th, 2020 |
2020-05-15 One of the best values in beer with 6 16 oz cans selling for $13. Intensely hoppy. Aroma is lilacs. Tastes sweeter than my preference but not from malt imbalance. A nice position between the New England and the West Coast styles. My biggest complaint is that 8.5% is more than I want for the serving size, 7-7.5 would be much appreciated.

Drank 12 oz of Stone of Scone Scotch Ale by Great Dane Pub and Brewing (2020-03-03) | May 11th, 2020 |
2020-05-11 My palate was off the first time, this is pretty sweet. It's fine, not a bad beer, but not particularly good in any notable way.
2020-04-26 The most quaffable scotch ale I have ever drunk. Finishes so clean, none of the dirty burnt caramel flavor that plagues some instances of the style. Reminds me of Traquair House Ale. Pleasant but not overbearing sweetness and light body. Can drink with just about anything, or pour as a patio beer.

Drank 12 oz of Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale by Central Waters Brewing Company (2018-06-26) | May 9th, 2020 |
2019-09-06 I missed recording a bottle of this somewhere.

Drank 750 ml of Darkness - Barrel Aged by Surly Brewing Co. (2018-01-15) | May 6th, 2020 |
2020-05-06 Very sweet, I would have guessed north of 13%. Not as balanced as the exquisite 2016. A nice dessert beer with chocolate and booze. One to share with loved ones.
Drank 12 oz of Smells Like Bean Spirit Hazelnut by Mikerphone | May 5th, 2020 |
2020-05-30 Not as good as the regular. As usual, subtraction by addition. Still quite good but I'm not buying 8 cans of it.
Drank 12 oz of Serendipity by New Glarus Brewing Company | May 4th, 2020 |
2018-01-31 Very heavy on the apple from the Teku glass.
2016-05-19 Blows me away, every time. The wrong food pairing can wreck this beer, though. First glass was amazing. After a salad with vinegar mustard dressing, all I could taste was the apples and a little cherry tart and cranberry sour.
