Drank 12 oz of Founders Imperial Stout by Founders Brewing (2014-12-02)April 11th, 2016
2017-01-04
Yeah, pretty good at 2 years but few stand up to Expedition.
2016-04-11
Dark and roasty, molasses. I like this a lot better than their Breakfast Stout (maybe I need to try that one again) but not as much as Expedition Stout. Still a great beer.
2016-01-18
Over a year old but doesn't taste much different than fresh. Maybe not worth the cellar space to age this one?
Drank 12 oz of Ten Fidy by Oskar Blues Brewery (2015-07-28)April 10th, 2016
2016-09-26
It's fine. Not my favorite, though. And way overpriced.
2016-04-10
I may have to revise that. I remember this tasting a lot more chocolaty and less roast. Definitely has a bite.
2015-12-18
NOT an RIS, but a very good Imperial Stout.
Drank 25 oz of Wisconsin Belgian Red by New Glarus Brewing CompanyApril 9th, 2016
2020-04-15
Works as a float but doesn't completely mesh with the vanilla custard.
Drank 12 oz of Uncle Jacob's Stout by Avery Brewing Company (2015-02-13)April 8th, 2016
2016-04-08
Like bourbon barrel aged hot chocolate.
Drank 12 oz of Backwoods Bastard by Founders Brewing (2015-10-06)April 7th, 2016
2017-11-03
Still good, maybe not as balanced as it could be. Smokier, burnt caramel, enough bourbon but not a bomb. More barrel than bourbon.
2017-05-30
Lost about all the bourbon in the flavor. I expected it to be smoother by now but it's still quite boozy. Very sweet, in a good way, though.
Drank 22 oz of Royal Standard by Clown Shoes (2014-10-14)April 5th, 2016
2016-04-05
Not so great. Maybe it was too old.
Drank 12 oz of KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2016-02-16)April 4th, 2016
2017-07-25
Past its prime by this point, less than 18 months old. Not much chocolate left. I get bitter coffee and molasses finish. I'll have a 2017 soon to compare. At 1 year old this was still nearly identical to the fresh batch.
2017-04-07
Smoother mouthfeel than the 2017 but coffee has dropped off significantly. I like the 2017 better already and I expect it to smooth out quickly as ot settles in the bottle.
Drank 12 oz of Scotty Karate by Dark Horse Brewing Co. (2015)April 3rd, 2016
Drank 22 oz of Stone Farking Wheaton W00tstout 2015 by Stone Brewing (2015-07-07)April 2nd, 2016
2016-04-02
So, so good.
Drank 25 oz of Raspberry Tart by New Glarus Brewing CompanyMarch 30th, 2016
Drank 12 oz of Expedition Stout by Bell's Brewery, Inc. (2015-10-16)March 29th, 2016
2020-03-14
Still fantastic. No drop-off but my preference center's around the three year mark. Barrel-aged is great but not what I want all the time. Perfect with beef stew.
2018-07-23
Nearly 3 years old and this is in it's prime.
2016-10-19
Yep, this is my definition of Russian Imperial Stout.
Drank 22 oz of Crimson Snapper by Pipeworks Brewing Company (2016)March 27th, 2016
2016-03-27
Pretty good. A nice IIPA with some body. Great palate cleanser with pizza. Smells a lot more resiny than it tastes. Not terrific, though, Citra Ninja is the best I've had from Pipeworks.
Drank 12 oz of Louie's Reserve Scotch Ale by Lake Louie Brewing (2015)March 27th, 2016
Drank 16 oz of Lizard King by Pipeworks Brewing Company (2016-03-09)March 26th, 2016
Drank 12 oz of Old Stock Ale 2012 by North Coast Brewing Co.March 26th, 2016
2018-03-14
This is what I remember, the 2016 is weak by comparison.
2016-03-26
Still surprisingly carbonated. Dried fruit flavors are even more intense than the 2014 but not overwhelming.
