Knocked this one out with Josh and Alex Kinney. I could have let it sit a few more years, still very hot although it smoothed some as it warmed. What do you expect at 16%? Huge whiskey barrel flavor. Maybe more than anything I've ever had. Big time boozy vanilla bread pudding. Very sweet as expected; not a detriment. Barely beer. I loved it.

Better now than at 3 days old. About 2 weeks out it hits its peak and sits there for a while.

Certainly no worse after a few weeks. Probably better.

Taste profile is cleaned up. Much more bitter, surprisingly so.

It's actually a bit too fresh. Smells amazing and explodes with good hops, plus it's smooth. But a little unfocused and seems like it needs to settle.

Just right from the Speigelau pilsener glass. The teku doesn't work for me with IPAs; good to know.

Much harsher and more bitter from the teku, exactly the opposite of the IPA glass. Still smells great but the teku definitely has an effect.

It's fine. I liked the Original better but it's a beer I can drink without thinking about it and there's no problem. Better than pretty much every red ale I've ever tried, for example. Nothing jumps out to me as being great, though.

Tasted weird this time, like it was old. A bit syrupy, bitter grapefruit peel. Not the best pairing for a IPA, chicken red lentil soup.

A really enjoyable IPA. No complaints. Refreshing, hoppy, crisp, balanced. Nothing in particular to stand out from the crowd but excellent nonetheless.

I like these export stouts better than most of what I've had that is classified as "American Stout". Guinness might be the most efficient flavor/abv brewery in the world.

Like bourbon soaked cocoa powder. As good as I've ever had it.

It's nearly perfect. I wouldn't mind a little more viscosity but no complaints other than that. If it's truly 9.5% this is a marvel. And much better than the other 2016 batch. I can't remember which one I gave to Jen, I hope it was this one.

Wow. Chocolate much? So much richer than when fresh. Bourbon has mellowed a bit but more chocolate roast. Very, very nice.

Shared 3 ways, we each had a small pour. Drank with berries and cookies. I noticed more coffee flavors than I ever have with this brew. Holds up well against competing sour and sweet flavors. Best on its own, though.
