The 2016 is off. Not off flavors, just not where it should be.

Very subtle, hard to believe it's 11.5%. Better than the last time but still disappointing. I need to try another vintage.

Hmm, yeasty, a bit nutty nowhere near as good as I remember.

Easy drinking for a barleywine, and finishes clean. Really balanced. Plenty of caramel sweetness and also some tart finish from the wine barrel. No negatives at four years old. Wonder what it would be like after four more but I don't regret opening it now. Delicious, really glad I was able to pick this up in Bend after missing out on it in Estes Park.

Cocoa powder. Less bourbon than I remember from the other bottle, wouldn't mind a little more. It also needs another month, at least, to settle in the bottle. But maybe the best vintage that I can remember.

The 2016 took a few months to get this good. This one is ready to go out of the gate. Chocolate bomb on the nose and tongue. Some coffee at the backend, too. More than I remember in other vintages. This is simply great. Reaffirms that I don't _need_ any other barrel stout.

Rich, complex, balanced, delicious. Don't miss these releases. Don't want to stock up at this price but they're really good.

Considering I paid $10 for this bottle, and passed on this year's vintage at $15, I'll probably never have a gueuze this good again.

Really nice straight sour. I'm no expert on gueuzes. I liked it.

So worth it. I need to pay more attention to this series. So much depth of flavor with a salty finish that wasn't overwhelming. What doesn't Pipeworks do well?

This is insanely good. Pure dessert. Hops barely present compared to the 2017 at this point. Not sure how much to attribute to vintage vs. age.

Drank a bottle with a dessert consisting of butterscotch pudding and homemade shortbread. Really brought out the "American" style. Hops were much more prevalent when consumed with sweeter foods. Still amazing every time.

Yeah. Well past it's prime. All the same flavors are there but it's messed up now. About a year of aging seems right. Don't sit on this one for too long.

Amazing this time. Humongous barrel character. Incredible vanilla. This time was as good as any other BB scotch ale I've had. They're crazy to say 43 degrees, though. Doesn't come alive below 55.

CAUTION, GUSHER!!! A bit thin but plenty of depth. Ignore suggestion to drink at 43 degrees. Heavy whiskey flavor. 11 months in the barrel can do that. Could mellow out with some time.

Two to three years is the sweet spot for this. Velvety smooth, thick as oil, slight sweetness, perfectly balanced bitterness, rich malt depth. The only neg is the low carb, it almost drinks like a liquor.

Great! Lots of bourbon, some cinnamon /nutmeg spice flavors, finishes like a cordial. I feel like the only thing holding this back from massive hype is the style.
