Drank 16 oz of Juice Pants by Maplewood Brewery (2018-10-01) | October 29th, 2018 |
2018-11-02 Note to self: give up on NEIPAs. It smells great but I'm a west coast guy.

Drank 12 oz of Curmudgeon's Better Half by Founders Brewing (2018-08-20) | October 27th, 2018 |
2019-11-15 They pretty much nailed this one. Maple is there. Nutty, dry bitterness is there from the old ale. Light on the bourbon, no big deal. A dessert beer for sure, very sweet. But good for the right situation/mood.
Drank 16 oz of Ninja vs Unicorn by Pipeworks Brewing Company (2018-09-27) | October 26th, 2018 |
Drank 12 oz of Serendipity by New Glarus Brewing Company | October 24th, 2018 |
2018-01-31 Very heavy on the apple from the Teku glass.
2016-05-19 Blows me away, every time. The wrong food pairing can wreck this beer, though. First glass was amazing. After a salad with vinegar mustard dressing, all I could taste was the apples and a little cherry tart and cranberry sour.
Drank 12 oz of Thumbprint Enigma by New Glarus Brewing Company (2017-01-08) | October 24th, 2018 |
2018-04-13 Again big malt, less fermented cherry than I remember. Smells like vinegar but more of a moderate sour on the tongue. Carbonation is delightful as ever. Not sure I can put this up there with my favorites any more. Cran-bic is so good. And I still have an Oud Bruin left. Wished New Glarus would put out more in this vein instead Weiss beers.
2017-08-09 So much maltier than I remember. Gives it a lot more depth, although it's not as crisply refreshing. Mutes the cherries a bit, too. Oddly reminds me of BBQ now, even though I don't like that beer.
2017-03-26 Such a drinkable sour. New Glarus sours work for me. Less cherry and less carbonation than I remember.
Drank 12 oz of Expedition Stout by Bell's Brewery, Inc. (2018-10-08) | October 23rd, 2018 |
2024-01-11 Five years was just a bit past its prime. Great to know. Maybe just this vintage or this bottle, but no reason to sit on this for longer than 4-5 years.
2018-10-23 Thick and rich, but definitely improves with a few years under its belt.
Drank 12 oz of Thumbprint Chocolate Stout by New Glarus Brewing Company (2018-10) | October 22nd, 2018 |
2018-10-22 Tootsie Roll chocolate stout.
2018-10-19 Like drinking chocolate milk. But better.
Drank 22 oz of §ucaba by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2016) | October 21st, 2018 |
2018-10-21 Shockingly, not as balanced as I expected. When I drank the 2013 last December it was liquid caramel. This had a woody harshness that reminded me of how the CW barleywine can be. Definitely better at room temp. Shows every bit of the 13+% abv. Nice viscosity and aroma but I expected it to be smoother and sweeter.
Drank 750 ml of Alexander by Brouwerij Rodenbach | October 20th, 2018 |
2018-10-20 This might be the best sour I have ever had. The acidity never overwhelmed my palate. The spot on carbonation contributed to a delightful soft mouthfeel. And I had no trouble finishing a 750 on my own at 5.6%. I consider it pricey at $17 but I have paid more for less. Would crush again.
Drank 12 oz of Strawberry Rhubarb by New Glarus Brewing Company (2018-04-24) | October 19th, 2018 |
Drank 12 oz of Thumbprint Chocolate Stout by New Glarus Brewing Company (2018-10) | October 19th, 2018 |
2018-10-22 Tootsie Roll chocolate stout.
2018-10-19 Like drinking chocolate milk. But better.
Drank 12 oz of Firestone XXI - Anniversary Ale by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2017-10-10) | October 18th, 2018 |
Drank 12 oz of Xolotl by Avery Brewing Company (2016-05-19) | October 17th, 2018 |
2018-10-17 I mean, the cocoa is nice, the barrel adds depth, but I wish the chiles and cinnamon weren't there, and at nearly 14% it's not even as good as CW's stout. This was a gift but I assume it was on the order of $10 so I wonder why it exists.
Drank 12 oz of Rye-on-Rye by Boulevard Brewing Company (2017-12-04) | October 16th, 2018 |
