Drank 750 ml of Rosé de Gambrinus by Brasserie Cantillon (2019-12-20) | June 27th, 2021 |
2021-06-27 Some serious “butt” in the nose, but some great tasting funk and soda-like raspberry on the tongue. Delicious.
Drank 750 ml of Bourbonic Plague by Cascade Brewing (2011) | June 25th, 2021 |
2021-06-25 Astringent, mildly funky, lots of date and spice character and a lovely sweetness. Masks the ABV well, happy with how it held up.
Drank 750 ml of Family Whistle by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2017) | June 25th, 2021 |
2021-06-25 Lovely fruit on the nose and on the palate, super mellow, mild funk and sourness. Delightful beer.
Drank 750 ml of The Wanderer by The Bruery (2013-10-24) | June 18th, 2021 |
2021-06-18 Maybe gone a little over but still not bad. Tart, a bit astringent, not too much overt fruit.
2014-11-16 Great fruit character and suuuuper tart, a great beer as always.
2014-02-23 Tart nose, mild raspberry and fruit flavor on the palate and a lot of yeast character and funk. Not super funky funk, but a decent bit of milder funk. A good beer, though perhaps slightly overrated.
Drank 750 ml of There Are Rules by The Rare Barrel (2016-08-09) | June 18th, 2021 |
2021-06-18 Standout, mellowed and lots of fruit in the nose and on the palate. Delicious, crowd favorite.
2017-11-05 Lots of fruit but it all works well together. Conclusion: basically impossible to add too much fruit to one of these beers. Really good.
Drank 750 ml of A Thousand Summers by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2018) | June 11th, 2021 |
2021-06-11 Nice fruit astringency, mild and pleasant sourness, light despite slightly higher ABV. Delicious.
2019-05-24 Such a weird sounding combo but so good! Amazing nose, super mellow, lots of cherry, lots of nectarine. This beer is amazing.
Drank 750 ml of Coffee Abraxas by Perennial Artisan Ales (2019) | June 11th, 2021 |
2021-06-11 Chocolate, smooth, mild coffee, and super slight heat on the finish. Very tasty.
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2013-10-11) | April 7th, 2021 |
2021-04-07 Definitely oxidized with a lot of raisin on the nose, but holds up pretty well, if still quite boozy.
2014-07-29 Delicious as always, perfect balance and so little heat for the strength, love this stout.
Drank 375 ml of Framboise For A Cure by Russian River Brewing Company (2014-09-04) | August 31st, 2020 |
2023-06-12 More body than the 2015 with a little less fruit, but definitely the better of the two.
2020-08-31 Not much fruit left but a very pleasantly tart and mellow framboise, with hints of sweetness coming through.
2015-06-26 Delicious as always, not too much raspberry left but still lots of citrus, and that perfect Russian River sour profile.
2015-03-05 Delicious, amazing color, great nose, lots of citrus and still a good bit of fruit there. Amazing beer.
2015-01-23 Still tasting amazing, plenty of fruit, best color of the batches tonight, if anything tasting a little more balanced now than it did fresh.
2014-11-16 Delicious, some lemon character, mild raspberry, great tang, a good start.
Drank 750 ml of Cantillon Saint Lamvinus by Brasserie Cantillon (2012-11-21) | February 28th, 2020 |
2020-02-28 Super cheese in an amazing way, less fruit than the fresher (2016) bottle but a little more character to the funk. Delicious.
2013-12-14 That perfect Cantillon funk, along with a surprising amount of fruit presence (not much must) coupled with the traditional sour backend. Awesome, was a great line beer waiting for Beatification.
Drank 500 ml of Dauenhauer by Sonoma Pride (2013-10-15) | February 28th, 2020 |
2020-02-28 Basically all Brett, but pretty good. Pablo said it reminded him of old Alaskan Brewing beers. Honestly better than I remember my initial impressions being.
2014-08-29 Better than the last time, perhaps overridden by previous hopped beers, but tasty funk, nice sweetness, overall a good one.
2014-08-23 Funkier than the last bottle, an interesting mix of farmhouse, funk, and malt sweetness.
2014-07-12 More esters than Amasa, less head, more malt character, less citrus. Also quite drinkable, very tasty, though Amasa was probably more fun.
Drank 500 ml of Amasa by Sonoma Pride (2013-12-20) | February 28th, 2020 |
2020-02-28 Really weird and funky nose, but a straight up delicious Brett beer on the palate, extremely clean with a little fruitiness on the finish. Crowd favorite of the two (against Dauh)..
2014-08-26 Still delicious.
2014-08-23 Still delicious and my favorite of the two Sonoma Pride releases, great hop aroma and flavor, and a great mix of funk.
2014-07-12 Fluffy white head, tasty Brett grain and sweetness, mild maltiness, and well carbonated. Eminently drinkable, tasty.
Drank 750 ml of Wineification II by The Bruery (2014-09-11) | February 28th, 2020 |
2020-02-28 Truly a beer like no other--starts like wine, middle like beer, finishes like wine. Much more pleasant than the usual Bruery profile by my preferences, and a crowd favorite.
2018-09-29 Sweet nose, very smooth on the palate, some strong wine notes though not as much as I remember when fresh. Not bad, but man so strong.
2015-03-04 Delicious, so much wine up front, definitely mellowed as it warmed, a fantastic blend that masks the Black Tuesday almost as if it weren't there. Great beer.
Drank 750 ml of 2011 Vintage Oak Aged Ale (Barrel No. 95) by Brouwerij Rodenbach (2011) | February 1st, 2020 |
2020-02-01 Super smooth, lovely light little tart, and such a lot of fruit character. Ages really well, love this beer.
Drank 330 ml of Trappist Westvleteren 12 by Brouwerij Westvleteren (2012) | January 31st, 2020 |
2020-01-31 A little oxidized in the nose, but wow amazing on the palate, so much raisin and prune and fruit from the yeast alone. Very different than fresh but has held up really well.
2013-02-23 Delicious! Dark, roasted notes, mild fruit. Not sure I'd call it best beer in world, but damn good. |
