Drank 750 ml of Cantillon Saint Lamvinus by Brasserie Cantillon (2012-11-21)February 28th, 2020
2020-02-28
Super cheese in an amazing way, less fruit than the fresher (2016) bottle but a little more character to the funk. Delicious.
2013-12-14
That perfect Cantillon funk, along with a surprising amount of fruit presence (not much must) coupled with the traditional sour backend. Awesome, was a great line beer waiting for Beatification.
Drank 500 ml of Dauenhauer by Sonoma Pride (2013-10-15)February 28th, 2020
2020-02-28
Basically all Brett, but pretty good. Pablo said it reminded him of old Alaskan Brewing beers. Honestly better than I remember my initial impressions being.
2014-08-29
Better than the last time, perhaps overridden by previous hopped beers, but tasty funk, nice sweetness, overall a good one.
2014-08-23
Funkier than the last bottle, an interesting mix of farmhouse, funk, and malt sweetness.
2014-07-12
More esters than Amasa, less head, more malt character, less citrus. Also quite drinkable, very tasty, though Amasa was probably more fun.
Drank 500 ml of Amasa by Sonoma Pride (2013-12-20)February 28th, 2020
2020-02-28
Really weird and funky nose, but a straight up delicious Brett beer on the palate, extremely clean with a little fruitiness on the finish. Crowd favorite of the two (against Dauh)..
2014-08-26
Still delicious.
2014-08-23
Still delicious and my favorite of the two Sonoma Pride releases, great hop aroma and flavor, and a great mix of funk.
2014-07-12
Fluffy white head, tasty Brett grain and sweetness, mild maltiness, and well carbonated. Eminently drinkable, tasty.
Drank 750 ml of Wineification II by The Bruery (2014-09-11)February 28th, 2020
2020-02-28
Truly a beer like no other--starts like wine, middle like beer, finishes like wine. Much more pleasant than the usual Bruery profile by my preferences, and a crowd favorite.
2018-09-29
Sweet nose, very smooth on the palate, some strong wine notes though not as much as I remember when fresh. Not bad, but man so strong.
2015-03-04
Delicious, so much wine up front, definitely mellowed as it warmed, a fantastic blend that masks the Black Tuesday almost as if it weren't there. Great beer.
Drank 750 ml of 2011 Vintage Oak Aged Ale (Barrel No. 95) by Brouwerij Rodenbach (2011)February 1st, 2020
2020-02-01
Super smooth, lovely light little tart, and such a lot of fruit character. Ages really well, love this beer.
Drank 330 ml of Trappist Westvleteren 12 by Brouwerij Westvleteren (2012)January 31st, 2020
2020-01-31
A little oxidized in the nose, but wow amazing on the palate, so much raisin and prune and fruit from the yeast alone. Very different than fresh but has held up really well.
2013-02-23
Delicious! Dark, roasted notes, mild fruit. Not sure I'd call it best beer in world, but damn good.
Drank 22 oz of Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S. Bairille Aois by Hoppin' Frog Brewery (2013)January 31st, 2020
2020-01-31
Thin, interesting nose, “burned rubber” from others, some nice latent barrel character and has held up well, not too oxidized.
Drank 750 ml of Speedway Stout - Vietnamese Coffee by AleSmith Brewing Company (2016)January 31st, 2020
2020-01-31
Tons of chocolate, mild coffee, nice not too thick mouthfeel, a little bit of heat on the finish. Still great.
Drank 650 ml of Black Butte XXIV by Deschutes Brewery (2012)January 31st, 2020
2020-01-31
Soy sauce, band aid, raisins, and cardboard. Not great! Drain poured much of it.
2013-08-16
Honestly, not great. Some anise flavors don't help, not much roastiness or porter character.
Drank 750 ml of Abraxas by Perennial Artisan Ales (2019)December 28th, 2019
2019-12-28
Delicious! Lovely heat buildup over the course of enjoyment, while really hitting those chocolate notes up front when the beer was colder. Still a winner.
Drank 12 oz of Barrel Aged Jones Dog by Pipeworks Brewing Company (2013)December 7th, 2019
2019-12-07
Held up quite well! Mellow, not at all boozy, and no off yeast flavors.
Drank 750 ml of Grey Monday by The Bruery (2013-09-25)December 7th, 2019
2019-12-07
Still great if huge, and hazelnuts have mellowed substantially much to my liking.
2014-03-08
Awesome, really boozy nose but almost none of it on the palate, the hazelnut is very mild and otherwise it's the delicious Black Tuesday profile I expect. Delicious.
Drank 750 ml of Pentagram by Surly Brewing Co. (2013)December 7th, 2019
2019-12-07
Mellow for a sour this old but with a nice, mild kick.
Drank 750 ml of Map of the Sun by The Rare Barrel (2015-09-01)November 7th, 2019
2019-11-07
Tasting great! Still a lot of fruit up front and a lot of apricot astringency on the back end, but really mellow and drinkable overall.
2017-11-05
Delicious as always, nicely balanced, nice astringency. Was great to try this between Map of the Moon and Keen Observation.
2016-04-01
Awesome tang and sourness, still a good deal of apricot, and really mellows as it warms. Great beer.
Drank 750 ml of Family Whistle by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2019)November 7th, 2019
2019-11-07
Very mellow fruit and funk, super drinkable, delightfully balanced.
