Drank 12 oz of Fred by Hair of the Dog Brewing Company (2012) | October 3rd, 2021 |
2021-10-03 The non-flat batch, tasting pretty good! Lots of carb, lots of caramel and breadiness.
2015-03-08 Batch 88, this was the flat one. Flat and, well, flat. Not a bad taste profile though. Too bad.
2014-08-06 Carbonated, so not one of the bad bottles Pablo and I ran into, a little tangier than Adam, a little more overt malt presence. Still a great beer, more hop forward, Adam still the winner but this is tasty.
2013-02-21 Hoppier than Adam, a bit like a barleywine but with amazing balance, no more sweetness than needed. Tasty. (Batch 87)
Drank 750 ml of Birdsong Platitudes by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2017) | October 3rd, 2021 |
2021-10-03 Quite tasty and not what I was expecting with the gin and wine barrel aging. Tasty, very dry, refreshing.
Drank 8 oz of Tepoztecatl by Saint Errant (2020) | September 26th, 2021 |
Drank 750 ml of Sucré - Bourbon by The Bruery (2014-02-26) | September 25th, 2021 |
2021-09-25 Honestly tastes like it's fresh off the shelf, still with a little heat, no oxidation, sweet with a little carb bite. Not bad but definitely best in small quantities.
Drank 750 ml of Sourtooth Tiger by The Rare Barrel (2014-07-22) | September 25th, 2021 |
2021-09-25 Ginger has not mellowed with time. Fun beer, refreshing, but oh so much ginger.
2017-11-05 Still very ginger forward, but otherwise a really mellow beer. Probably my favorite of the two Sourtooths.
Drank 750 ml of Kiwi Lambic by Upland Brewing (2014-05-14) | September 25th, 2021 |
2021-09-25 An absolute pucker bomb. Maybe some kiwi in the nose, but nothing noticeable on the palate, just tart and acidic. Not bad but a bit over the top.
Drank 750 ml of Heartbreaker by Fieldwork Brewing Co. (2016-01) | September 25th, 2021 |
2021-09-25 A sneaker hit! Really mellow and pleasant sourness up front, and a lovely bit of funk on the back end that was super well balanced.
Drank 750 ml of Map of the Moon by The Rare Barrel (2016-04-01) | September 3rd, 2021 |
2021-09-03 Still lots of apricot and quite delicious
2017-11-05 SO much apricot still there, totally holding it's own. Map of the Sun on steroids, and it works, even helping to hide some of the astringency.
Drank 16 oz of Infinite Stout Season by Cellarmaker Brewing Co. (2021) | September 3rd, 2021 |
2021-09-03 Very pastry, very stout, very good
Drank 750 ml of Gifted Branch by The Rare Barrel (2016-06-22) | September 3rd, 2021 |
2021-09-03 Still great, mellowed nicely but plenty of fruit
2017-11-05 Lots of fruit, apricots more dominant at this point though the peach is still a nice backdrop. Another favorite of the evening, likely due to lots of fruit!
Drank 750 ml of Ensorcelled by The Rare Barrel (2016-01-14) | September 3rd, 2021 |
2021-09-03 Quite tart still! And lots of it is from fruit. Tasty.
2017-11-05 Most fruit forward though that fruit was still very subdued. Dark sour seems to mask the fruit pretty quickly.
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon County Brand Barleywine by Goose Island Beer Co. (2014-09-24) | September 3rd, 2021 |
2021-09-03 Held up OK. | |
2015-11-07 "This barley wine is gnarly wine" says Evan. Big, thick, some booze heat but pleasantly so, and a reduced candy profile from what I last remember.
2014-12-22 Not as much magic as last year but still quite tasty, nice malt character without being too sweet.
Drank 750 ml of Nonna's Blend #16 by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2019) | August 27th, 2021 |
Drank 22 oz of Victory at Sea by Ballast Point Brewing Company (2013) | August 13th, 2021 |
2021-08-13 Held up really well, some raisin in the nose but a balanced profile that still has some bite on the tongue. Noticeable coffee and vanilla as well.
Drank 750 ml of Appreciation by Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (2019) | July 25th, 2021 |
2021-07-25 Delicious and still plenty of fruit |
