Drank 16 oz of Heavy Machinery Double IPA by Austin Beerworks (2013) | October 23rd, 2013 |
2013-10-22 Definitely not up to the likes of Heady Topper enjoyed immediately before, the malt/pine ratio is a bit off, but it's a decent DIPA.
2013-10-21 Skunk/malt nose, same thing on the palate. A decent double IPA, though nothing mind blowing.

Drank 16 oz of Heady Topper by The Alchemist (2013-10-08) | October 22nd, 2013 |
2013-10-26 Tastes like drinking hops. Pablo wasn't into it. I think it's delicious ;-)
2013-10-26 This beer is great; must get some more.
2013-10-24 An extremely delicious beer; such a great hop aroma (smell the can after pouring, worth it), a subtle balance of malt and hop, not too bitter but tons of lupulin goodness. Wish we got this over here. Need to do a back to back with Pliny.
2013-10-23 Still quite tasty!
2013-10-22 Lots of citrus, pine, both in the nose and on the palate. A delicious IPA. Wouldn't say better than Pliny, but not worse either; they're both up there on the same level.
Drank 22 oz of Devestatetion by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2013) | October 22nd, 2013 |
2013-10-22 A pretty good example of the style, though it'd be better if it were a little more hop forward with less grain on the finish. Also annoyingly difficult to open (wax!) ;-)
Drank 16 oz of Heavy Machinery Wet Hop IPA by Austin Beerworks (2013) | October 22nd, 2013 |
2013-10-24 Mild, and works better than their DIPA I think. Not bad, not great.
2013-10-21 Only a mild bit of grassiness, same aroma as the DIPA, and great flavor though not as robust. Good example of the style.
2013-10-20 Was slightly frozen when cooling down, difficult to tell how it is, need to drink another.
Drank 650 ml of Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2012-11-12) | October 22nd, 2013 |
2013-10-22 Awesome beer; some coffee bitterness, especially in the nose, and great taste on the palate, no heat or booziness and the malt balances well with the coffee. Regular BCBS perhaps a tad better, but this is great.

Drank 500 ml of Pliny the Elder by Russian River Brewing Company (2013-10-08) | October 16th, 2013 |
2013-10-16 Delicious as always.
Drank 375 ml of Supplication by Russian River Brewing Company (2013-04-11) | October 16th, 2013 |
2013-09-16 Haven't had it for a while, but, delicious!
Drank 22 oz of Santa's Little Helper by Port Brewing Company (2009) | October 15th, 2013 |
2013-10-15 Has a bit of a "crunch", nose isn't my favorite but the taste is pretty good. Probably unfair coming to this after the Merkin, but good.
Drank 650 ml of Velvet Merkin by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2013) | October 15th, 2013 |
2017-08-19 I think this is the only one I had a pour of, but it's tasting great! I was worried it might not age well, but it held up great. May also have been enjoyable because of the comparatively lower ABV.
2014-10-09 Tasting good, a bit lighter than expected, hides the booze entirely, some nuttiness and some oatmeal definitely present, a delicious brew.
2013-10-15 Makes the wife a happy wife ;-) Awesome nose, lots of vanilla and maybe a hint of coconut, super smooth on the palate with a perfect balance of maltiness and oak characteristic, cut nicely by the oatmeal. Firestone knows how to make a delicious stout.
Drank 750 ml of Kriek Ale by Cascade Brewing (2013) | October 13th, 2013 |
2014-04-05 Great, really fresh, perfect balance of tartness and fruit.
2013-10-13 Mix of cherries and tartness in the nose, dark color, some cherry up front but subsides to mostly tartness very quickly. Delicious, great right now in terms of fruit/tart balance.
2013-07-15 Absolutely delicious kriek, perfect balance of tart and cherry characteristics. Extremely drinkable, and deserving of the BA score.
Drank 16 oz of Oktober Fest - Märzen by Brauerei Aying Franz Inselkammer KG (2013) | October 12th, 2013 |
2013-10-12 Sweet, but not too sweet, a great Marzen
2013-09-28 Tasty, with lots of malt, definitely a taste of Germany. |
