Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Cherry Wood Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2021-08-29) | July 1st, 2022 |
2023-11-24 Shared in line at Hicksville Beer & Soda on Black Friday. Holding up very well.
2022-07-01 Getting lots of bourbon notes with a subtle flavor of chocolate and finishes with slightly tart cherry. Sadly that ends up leaving bitterness on the palate. Not bad, but not my favorite.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Classic Cola Stout (2021) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2021-08-10) | June 26th, 2022 |
2024-12-08 Bourbon County Vertical 2024
2023-06-22 This has good much richer in intensity of flavor, and particularly the cola, which I felt was incredibly subtle when fresh. I still don’t think it’s worth $1 more than the base and it’s still not my favorite.
2022-06-26 Better than I remember when trying it fresh. The cola is still subtle, but it’s a nice variation on the base. I still do taste a bit of orange, but the finish differs from Midnight Orange, in that there’s no chocolate. Not my favorite, but still decent.
Drank 25 oz of Black Tuesday (2021) by The Bruery (2021-09-13) | June 12th, 2022 |
Drank 16 oz of Yada Yada Yada 2.0 by Spider Bite Brewing Company | June 12th, 2022 |
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Midnight Orange by Goose Island Beer Co. (2018-09-20) | June 7th, 2022 |
2024-09-19 With Mike and Katie
2022-12-04 Bourbon County Vertical 2022
2022-08-09 More chocolate than orange now. Still good.
2022-06-07 Definitely starting to show its age and the orange has changed a bit, but there’s plenty orange left and the base beer shines through beautifully.
2020-09-08 Still tons of orange. Super dark, chocolatey, malty, and sticky on the lips. I hope they make this again someday.
2020-06-13 Orange is still strong at the front. Holding up well.
2020-03-22 This one seems to have lost a bit of carbonation and the Orange has faded a bit. I bought this one more recently so maybe not stored well.
Drank Lost Apparition by Blue Point Brewing (2022) | June 2nd, 2022 |
2022-06-02 Decent flavor profile, but too strong on the hops, no juiciness, and is thinner than I’d like. With so many beers in this style, this isn’t one I’d return to.
Drank 16 oz of Gold Coast by Garvies Point Craft Brewery (2022-04-05) | May 29th, 2022 |
2022-05-29 Light and refreshing. Nice flavor. Just a touch less bitterness would be great.
Drank 16 oz of BA Coconut Drip by Finback Brewery (2021) | May 27th, 2022 |
2022-05-27 Velvety, coconut, and coffee with plenty of barrel. This is a special treat that I wish I could get more of.
2021-12-05 So damn good. Coconut is subtle, but detectable and lingers on the finish. Very velvety mouthfeel - amazing. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Rich and decadent.
Drank Dawn of a New Day by Big Alice Brewing | May 22nd, 2022 |
2022-05-22 Really subtle but enjoyable flavors, soft mouthfeel, crushable. Would definitely buy again.
Drank 12 oz of Stickee Monkee by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2017) | May 13th, 2022 |
2022-05-13 Sweet, boozy, and yummy.
Drank 16 oz of Fine Old Rum Barrel Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2021-08-08) | May 13th, 2022 |
2022-05-13 Very rich and full bodied. Reminds me of Dogfish Head Raison d’extra a bit. Lots of roasty flavors. Sweetness from the rum barrel. Very good.
Drank 16 oz of BA Red Velvet 2021 by Finback Brewery (2021) | April 27th, 2022 |
2022-04-27 Very unique flavors. I totally get the cream cheese and it works well. Nice sweetness and velvety texture. This is a winner.
Drank 16 oz of So Happens It's Tuesday by The Bruery (2020-09-02) | April 23rd, 2022 |
2020-11-01 This is very good. Lots of bourbon, sweetness from the vanilla and chocolate, a hint of tartness from the cherries, thickness and sweetness from the molasses. Will have to get more of these.
Drank 12 oz of KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) by Founders Brewing (2020-10-14) | April 21st, 2022 |
2022-04-21 Lots of dark chocolate and roasty malt with a hint of sweetness from the maple and booziness from the barrel.
2020-10-31 Founders knocked it out of the park with this one. Loads of chocolate, very rich, no bitterness. Only a few sips in, but looking forward to seeing how it changes with some warmth.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Reserve 150 Stout (2021) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2021-07-25) | April 17th, 2022 |
2022-09-24 This is still excellent. Incredibly rich and decadent, with a nice warmth from the barrel.
2022-04-17 Drinking this along with a sample of Old Forester 150, the same barrels this was aged in. What a pairing! Thanks Richard!!!
2021-12-31 This is the clear winner for the 2021 lineup. Sadly I never got to try the OF 150 bourbon this beer was aged in barrels of, but now I want to even more than before. Low carbonation, but depth of flavor. Tons of barrel. Enjoying it even more as it warms. |
