Drank Snowbirds 6 by Other Half Brewing Co. (2022)March 28th, 2023
2023-03-28
Banana bomb! Once the banana subsides, some sweet but dark chocolate comes in and then the banana comes back subtly, with a bit of barrel on the finish. Very enjoyable, not overly sweet, and signature OH stout velvety thickness, without being heavy.
Drank 12 oz of Triple Unwind Your Mind by Hop Butcher for the World (2023-01-17)March 26th, 2023
2023-03-26
This has really great flavor and it’s soft and light.
Drank 12 oz of Bamburana by Oskar Blues / Cigar City (2019-01-10)March 25th, 2023
2024-05-24
Still tastes great. Starting to detect a hint of age, but not in a bad way.
2023-03-25
Still tastes as I remember it. Sad they haven’t made this again.
2022-10-24
Holding up really well.
2020-11-19
Still so good.
2020-04-07
Holding up nicely so far. Still strong whiskey and fig flavors, with malt on the finish.
2019-03-17
Really interesting. Bold malty flavor, softened by the brandy and made slightly sharp by the whiskey. Sweetness from the figs and dates.
Drank 12 oz of KBS Chocolate Cherry by Founders Brewing (2022-12-05)March 21st, 2023
2023-03-21
Lots of dark chocolate. Too bitter on the front and finish. Sweeter than expected but not overly sweet. Not really picking up any cherry flavors. Decent, but not one I’d buy again.
Drank Double Barrel Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2019-08-24)March 19th, 2023
2023-03-19
I’ve been trying to get my hands on this bottle for a long time. In short, it’s fantastic. Is it better than Rare (2015)? No. You immediately taste the rich complexity of the 2 Elijah Craig barrels it was aged in for a year each and all the boozy goodness you’d expect. Lots of chocolate and a bit of sweetness on the palate. The finish is long with the familiar BC sticky sweetness.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Sir Isaac’s Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2022-08-29)March 16th, 2023
2023-03-16
Really enjoying this one. Depth of flavor and complexity with a hint of fig, sweetness, and bourbon barrel. Overall flavor presents like it has some age on it.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Biscotti Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2022-08-19)March 3rd, 2023
2024-11-09
Flavor doesn’t seem to have changed. The almond flavor is still just as strong on the front. On the finish, lots of rich dark chocolate.
2023-03-03
Lots of underlying chocolate, layered with rainbow cookie. The nose is very much biscotti with a hint of licorice, but thankfully not more than that. Only negative is a slight bitter note on the finish.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Barleywine (2016) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2016-10-18)February 25th, 2023
2023-02-25
Held up really well. Dark, sweet, toffee, bourbon goodness.
Drank BQE - Vietnamese Coffee (2022) by Finback Brewery (2022)February 12th, 2023
2023-02-12
Imperial stout with cacao nibs and Mostra Vietnam Lotus Coffee. Aged in bourbon barrels 2022.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Special #4 Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2020-09-11)February 4th, 2023
2024-07-27
This has held up remarkably well. Still plenty of coffee and flavorful maple syrup flavors.
2024-03-03
Lots of coffee and molasses, along with dark chocolate. A bit thinner than the regular stouts, but flavors linger for awhile.
2023-02-04
Coffee is still prominent, with a hint of sweetness from the maple. Holding up well so far.
2022-09-30
Lots of coffee; more than I remember. Glad I have a bunch of these left.
2022-02-26
Did a side by side with 2019 Café de Olla and 2020 Special #4. In the end, they’re both fantastic, but the Café de Olla wins. Thankfully, the cassia bark aka cinnamon has calmed down in the Café de Olla.
2020-12-31
This is a mouthful of coffee and not a whole lot of other flavors. There’s a subtle hint of the sweetness from the maple. It would have been better if Goose Island stuck with the base stout instead of the thinner, less malty, less flavorful oatmeal.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout (2016) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2016-10-07)January 29th, 2023

Bourbon County Vertical 2023
2023-01-29
Starting to take on some aged characteristics, but not in a bad way.
2022-12-04
Bourbon County Vertical 2022
2022-04-07
This is really holding up very well. Lots of barrel, smooth/silky mouthfeel, and lots of chocolate and roasted malt.
2021-12-12
Bourbon County Vertical 2021
2020-12-05
Vertical 2020
2020-05-28
Has aged very well. Lots of dark, roasted malt and booziness.
2020-05-22
Lots of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Thin for BC.
2020-03-12
Put some cold brewed coffee in. yumm
2019-12-08
8 year vertical
2018-06-14
Really good, smooth, boozy, rich and roasty.
2016-12-01
Great fresh.
Drank 16 oz of BQE Double Banana Coconut (2022) by Finback Brewery (2022)January 27th, 2023
2023-01-27
Tons of banana on the nose and palate. Slight hint of coconut, followed by dark chocolate, and finishes with more banana. Very good and complex.
Drank Willettized Coffee Stout by Lagunitas Brewing Company (2020)December 26th, 2022
2022-12-26
Held up well. Plenty of coffee and barrel, though seems like very little carbonation.
2021-03-16
Really roasty and whiskey is well pronounced. Dark chocolate flavors also present.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Café de Olla Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2019-08-08)December 22nd, 2022
2022-12-22
So much coffee. Not sure this has changed much in 3 years. The cinnamon just ends up adding a butter finish.
2022-02-26
Did a side by side with 2019 Café de Olla and 2020 Special #4. In the end, they’re both fantastic, but the Café de Olla wins. Thankfully, the cassia bark aka cinnamon has calmed down in the Café de Olla.
2021-07-30
Coffee in this is tasting really nice. I still hope they go back to a coffee only BA stout, but this is good. The base also shines through with a lot of dark chocolate and malt.
2020-10-29
This seems like it has changed a bit since being fresh. Overwhelming amount of rich, dark chocolate and malt with just a hint of the coffee, orange and cinnamon.
2020-05-01
Lots of coffee up from that gives way to the acidity of the orange peel and spice of the cassia bark. The finish is dark roasted malt, that leads into dark chocolate and heat. Still prefer 2015/6 coffee over any subsequent release so far.
Drank 16 oz of Bourbon County Brand Wheatwine by Goose Island Beer Co. (2018-08-11)December 18th, 2022
2022-12-18
This has aged nicely. Still a bit on the sweet side for me, but reminiscent of a barleywine otherwise. Subtle hint of the barrel.
2020-07-26
Aged nicely. A little sweet, but very good.
