Drank 12 oz of Stone Farking Wheaton W00t Stout by Stone Brewing (2018-06-26) | January 15th, 2019 |
Drank 12 oz of Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale by Central Waters Brewing Company (2018-06-26) | January 14th, 2019 |
2019-09-06 I missed recording a bottle of this somewhere.
Drank 12 oz of Rift IPA by Central Waters Brewing Company (2018-12-06) | January 13th, 2019 |
2019-01-17 This is a worthy competitor to Anti-Hero. Doesn't quite have the soft carb, but this will never disappoint me.

Drank 12 oz of Deth's Tar by Revolution Brewing LLC (2018-10-15) | January 11th, 2019 |
Drank 12 oz of Olde School Barleywine by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (2017-01-18) | January 9th, 2019 |
2019-12-03 Now it's really really good. Wish I had waited a little longer to open the first couple of bottles. Then I'd plan to drink them this winter. I guess it could get better, but it's really nice now.
2019-08-09 I can drink it with tacos. Certainly not the most optimal pairing but they're both still good even if they have completely separate flavor profiles. It's sweet. That's mostly what I'm getting this time. It's good, doesn't beat you over the head with hops.
2019-01-09 Now it tastes good. Alcohol heat is gone, leaving behind raisin, date, fig, sweetness. Incredibly deceiving 15% now, I would guess 11%. However, as pleasant as it is I don't long for a beer that tastes like this. I don't avoid eating food or brushing my teeth afterwards in order to continue enjoying the aftertaste. It's as good as any naked barleywine I've ever had, but can't aspire to the same heights as one aged in spirit barrels.
2018-05-05 Still plenty of alcohol heat. Not a dramatic amount of flavor for 15%. I guess I'll give it another year but I'm underwhelmed. Why do I keep trying stuff that isn't Central Waters?
Drank 12 oz of Black Chocolate Stout by Brooklyn Brewery (2018-10-09) | January 8th, 2019 |
2019-08-31 OK, this is pretty good now. Expedition doesn't hit its stride until about a year, so it's a fair analogue.
Drank 16 oz of Genuine Bock Beer by Pipeworks Brewing Company (2018-12-10) | January 7th, 2019 |
2019-01-16 Tasted better tonight, more of a toasty flavor. Might have been due to the pairing with tostadas but it really cut the sweetness. Easy to drink a pint.
2019-01-06 Sweet and smooth. But sweet.

Drank 500 ml of Old Stock Cellar Reserve (Aged In Wheat Whiskey Barrels) by North Coast Brewing Co. (2015) | January 5th, 2019 |
2020-06-21 Fantastic. Creme brulee in spades. Vanilla and burnt caramel in the nose. More bitterness in the swallow, which keeps it from being cloying. For 14.5% I can drink a lot of this, surprisingly dry. Killer. My favorite barrel treatment for this series.
2019-01-05 Wow. This was fantastic. I was hesitant because it's wheat whiskey but so well balanced and integrated. I don't regret buying two. Very potent. Huge barrel character, and you can smell the whiskey but it drinks so smooth. No worries about taking an hour or two to finish, drinks just as well at room temperature.
Drank 22 oz of The Abyss by Deschutes Brewery (2016-12-08) | January 4th, 2019 |
2019-05-17 Much smoother than my recollection of the other 2016 bottle. Bittersweet chocolate and coffee grounds sounds about right but I'm enjoying it more this time.
2019-01-04 This one tasted like coffee grounds, and then unsweetened baker's chocolate as it warmed. Not my favorite. I remember getting a little sweetness to offset the bitterness in other bottles I have opened.
Drank 500 ml of Bourbon County Brand Stout (2015) by Goose Island Beer Co. (2015-11-09) | December 28th, 2018 |
2018-12-28 Last 2015 bottle. Sigh.
2017-12-05 Makes me reconsider my boycott of Goose Island.
Drank 22 oz of Queen Hazel by MobCraft Beer (2018-11-01) | December 26th, 2018 |
2018-12-26 A nice imperial stout. Hazelnut is there but more subtle than I wanted, barrel quality is nicely balanced. Carb is not ideal but improves at warmer temps. Not exceptional but a bargain at the price. Good, not great.
Drank 500 ml of Old Stock Ale - 2013 Cellar Reserve by North Coast Brewing Co. | December 25th, 2018 |
2019-03-29 Unreasonably smooth. Caramel. Creme brulee. Spirit driven. Expensive, but worth it.
2018-12-25 Caramel. Smells THE BEST. Less intense than 2014 Rye, surprisingly balanced at 14%. Glad I have another.
Drank 750 ml of Barrel Roll No. 3 Pugachev's Cobra by Hangar 24 Craft Brewery (2015-12) | December 23rd, 2018 |
2018-12-23 A little past its prime at 3 years. A little coffee, could be smoother. Smells just like you want it to. Big bourbon, big thick stout, very satisfying. |
