Drank 650 ml of Gramarye by Heretic Brewing Company (2013) | January 10th, 2013 |
2013-01-11 Mild but tasty rye character, lots of flavor for such a mild ale.
Drank 650 ml of Green Flash Palate Wrecker by Green Flash Brewing Co. (2013) | January 10th, 2013 |
2013-01-13 Hopped during mash, sparge, and then throughout the brew. Awesome!
Drank Blind Pig IPA by Russian River Brewing Company (2013) | January 10th, 2013 |
2013-01-11 Well balanced, mild malt in the nose, but nice hop character. Supremely well balanced IPA.
Drank 750 ml of Brux Domesticated Wild Ale by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2012) | January 9th, 2013 |
2013-06-19 Mild, brett nose, and a delicious mix of sweetness and brett funk on the palate; this second tasting is better than I remember the first being.
2012-12-28 First tasting was solid, with mild sourness. Don't mix with other beers, will overwhelm. Definite wild ale mouthfeel.
Drank 750 ml of Autumn Maple by The Bruery (2012) | January 9th, 2013 |
2013-03-02 Sweet, yam in the nose but not too much on the palate. Interesting, but not a favorite.
2013-01-05 First one was sour! Accidentally soured batch, and second bottle likely affected as well. Lots of vinegar, not sure how I felt about this take on it.
Drank 750 ml of White Oak by The Bruery (2012) | January 8th, 2013 |
2013-09-17 This is such a great beer, and a year of age has only helped. Delicious wheat sweetness up front, and flows smoothly into delicious bourbon overtones. Dig it.
2012-12-28 Delicious, wheat and oak and bourbon undertones.
Drank 650 ml of Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale by Stone Brewing (2012) | January 8th, 2013 |
2012-12-28 Rounded spice notes most evident. Clove, musk, "baked ham" from Cami ;-)
Drank 650 ml of Stone 11.11.11 Vertical Epic Ale by Stone Brewing (2011) | January 8th, 2013 |
2012-12-28 Noticeable spiced flavor, chilies and cinnamon come through.
Drank 650 ml of Stone 10.10.10 Vertical Epic Ale by Stone Brewing (2010) | January 8th, 2013 |
2012-12-30 Not much nose, wine-like notes in the taste, Belgian sweetness. Not a favorite, but not bad.
Drank 650 ml of Stone 06.06.06 Vertical Epic Ale by Stone Brewing (2006) | January 8th, 2013 |
2012-12-28 Subtle spice, roasted favors, sweeter palette than nose, solid dark Belgian take.
Drank 750 ml of Samuel Adams Stony Brook Red by Boston Beer Company (2012) | January 8th, 2013 |
2013-03-20 Bready (maybe some brett in there?), not too much of a red, but not spectacular. So so beer.
Drank 12 oz of Narwhal Imperial Stout by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2012) | January 8th, 2013 |
2013-08-19 Better than the last bottle, from what I remember, pitch black, nice thin head, great nose, nice mix of porter sharpness and stout character.
2013-04-25 Not as good as I remember on second tasting. A little dull.
2012-12-29 Mild nose, minimal head with decent lacing. Warmth and roasted malts immediately apparent, very solid and straightforward take on an Imperial Stout.
Drank 650 ml of Matilda by Goose Island Beer Co. (2012) | January 8th, 2013 |
2012-12-28 Well balanced, sweet, and very mildly sour. Should do well with aging!
Drank 12 oz of Ken Schmidt / Iron Fist / Stone Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout by Stone Brewing (2012) | January 8th, 2013 |
2015-10-10 Still lots of mint! Hope they do this beer again, super delicious.
2014-05-25 Still lots of mint, dark chocolate, very little booziness. Love it.
2014-04-15 Tasting great, very much like a peppermint patty with lots of chocolate and a subtle amount of mint. Great beer, glad I grabbed extras.
2013-10-08 The mint is possibly fading a tad, but still an amazingly delicious beer. So well done.
2013-03-29 This beer is amazing. The mint works so well. Wish I had more in the cellar than just two!
2013-01-09 This was delicious! Was scared mint would overwhelm, but was extremely subtle and a perfect compliment. Should age well, must resist temptation to drink them all now.
Drank 650 ml of Firestone 15 - Anniversary Ale by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2011) | January 8th, 2013 |
2017-08-19 Tasting, somewhat surprisingly, a lot more oxidized than the 14. Expressed as more bitterness, less of a smooth blend. Not bad but hasn't held up extremely well.
2014-01-02 Delicious. Definitely more of a barleywine than some of the other anniversary blends, but has come along really nicely, with a great balance of malt and smooth roasty notes. Dig it.
2012-12-28 First tasting (December 2011) was silky and sweet with lots of vanilla and booziness. |
