Drank 750 ml of Raspberry Tart by New Glarus Brewing Company (2013)September 1st, 2013
2013-09-01
Straight up raspberry soda. Delicious, a great experiment along the lines of the creme brûlée beer. Delicious and stoppable, nice sweetness followed by fruit tartness.
Drank 750 ml of Melange No. 3 by The Bruery (2011)September 1st, 2013
2013-09-01
Huge beer! First sip was unexpectedly powerful. Followup sips less so, for the ABV still hides the alcohol well. Not quite a stout, a good, big beer.
Drank 650 ml of Matilda by Goose Island Beer Co. (2012-08)August 31st, 2013
2017-04-27
Has aged well; mellow sweetness, mellow funk, nice body.
2013-08-31
Definitely getting a lot more brett a year in; great beer for a warm day, nice bitterness on the finish.
2013-06-24
A little more Brett than last time; delicious!
Drank 750 ml of Bottleworks XII by The Bruery (2013-06-10)August 31st, 2013
2014-08-16
This is still drinking so great. Surprisingly, still a lot of fruit going on, coupled with a perfect tartness and that wheat goodness backing it all up. Love this beer and sad I'm down to my last bottle.
2013-11-03
Fruit is falling out but still a delicious brew, perfectly balanced.
2013-08-31
Love this beer. Such a perfect mix of tartness, fruit, and wheat. Alcohol completely hidden. Get more perhaps? ;-)
2013-08-13
Absolutely delicious, tons of raspberry, really balanced sour and definite wheat in the nose. Love it, so glad to have more of this. Huzzah!
Drank 750 ml of Beauregard by The Bruery (2013-05-09)August 31st, 2013
2013-08-31
Definite vinegar on the finish, but still a great brew, amazing color and nose, and quite fruit forward.
2013-07-18
Sour, a bit puckering but not acidic, some fruit but the blueberry is not obvious. Overall, delicious!
Drank 12 oz of Breakfast Stout by Founders Brewing (2012-11-19)August 29th, 2013
2013-11-27
Such a nice, rounded stout. Love this beer.
2013-08-29
Such a delicious breakfast stout, balanced, no overt booziness, and tasty. Wish I had a LOT more!
2013-08-01
Really smooth and delicious, coffee in the nose and really smooth on the palate. Awesome!
Drank 750 ml of Tropic King by Funkwerks (2013)August 27th, 2013
2013-08-27
Really sweet, floral nose, and similar on palate. Great roundness while still remaining fairly sweet. Dig it!
Drank 12 oz of Dogpatch Sour by Almanac Beer Co. (2013)August 27th, 2013
2013-08-10
Really balanced sour blonde, the cherry works well.
Drank 750 ml of Smoking Wood (Bourbon Barrel Aged) by The Bruery (2013)August 23rd, 2013
2014-08-03
Much better than regular Smoking Wood, the smoke makes a nice backdrop for the pronounced barrel notes, a great take on a porter, and hides the alcohol well.
2013-08-23
Zero head, very little carbonation, sweet, oak, and bourbon up front, and lots of smokiness on the finish. Not bad.
Drank 375 ml of Ovila Abbey Quad with Plums by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2013)August 22nd, 2013
2014-04-12
Has held up quite well, though not as much fruit as I remember, which is to be expected. I do feel like the Westvelteren 12 holds up better.
2013-08-22
Tasty! Plums have faded a it, but still a solid Belgian quad.
2013-02-17
Dark fruit smokiness, delicious, lingering. Must get more!
Drank 750 ml of Tart of Darkness by The Bruery (2013-05-13)August 22nd, 2013
2013-08-22
Such a great sour stout, awesome fruit notes in the nose and on the palate, coupled with a well balanced tartness and mild stout characteristics. Delicious.
Drank 750 ml of Otiose by The Bruery (2012)August 22nd, 2013
2013-11-22
Great, consecration and supplication-like, hard to get fruit but not surprising it's fallen out, great beer.
Drank 16 oz of Pliny the Elder by Russian River Brewing Company (2013-08-16)August 21st, 2013
Drank 650 ml of Creme Brulee Imperial Milk Stout by Southern Tier Brewing Co (2013)August 21st, 2013
2013-08-21
They're not kidding! Really intense, tons of vanilla in the nose, lots of vanilla and cream on the palate with a hint of toastiness. Quite good but pretty intense to drink a lot in one sitting.
Drank 12 oz of Adam by Hair of the Dog Brewing Company (2012)August 21st, 2013
2014-08-05
Muted nose with some yeast and sugar, great on the palate, no heat at all despite the ABV, candi sugar, grain, delicious.
2013-08-21
Batch 88, mild carbonation, almost pitch black, great nose, and such a great ale, "old" or not, balanced and delicious. Glad this was better than the Batch 88 Fred.
2013-02-12
Mild sweetness, amazing grainy nose, not very boozy, some mild warming. Delicious. (Batch 87)
