Drank 750 ml of MischMishMish by The Bruery (2014) | November 30th, 2014 |
2014-05-23 Still great, lots of apricot and tiny but of brett character.
2014-04-25 Awesome beer, still bummed I couldn't get more. Basically tastes like Mischief with apricots added (which I'd wager is the actual deal with this beer). Hope it becomes a standard.
Drank 750 ml of Melange No. 3 by The Bruery (2011) | November 30th, 2014 |
2013-09-01 Huge beer! First sip was unexpectedly powerful. Followup sips less so, for the ABV still hides the alcohol well. Not quite a stout, a good, big beer.
Drank 650 ml of Velvet Merkin by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2013) | November 30th, 2014 |
2017-08-19 I think this is the only one I had a pour of, but it's tasting great! I was worried it might not age well, but it held up great. May also have been enjoyable because of the comparatively lower ABV.
2014-10-09 Tasting good, a bit lighter than expected, hides the booze entirely, some nuttiness and some oatmeal definitely present, a delicious brew.
2013-10-15 Makes the wife a happy wife ;-) Awesome nose, lots of vanilla and maybe a hint of coconut, super smooth on the palate with a perfect balance of maltiness and oak characteristic, cut nicely by the oatmeal. Firestone knows how to make a delicious stout.
Drank 750 ml of Darkest Hour by Anchorage Brewing Co (2013-03) | November 30th, 2014 |
2013-07-29 Really interesting, a lot of wine notes for a stout, the barrel aging really comes through. Not the best but not bad either.
Drank 12 oz of Sourdough Wild Ale by Almanac Beer Co. (2013-02) | November 30th, 2014 |
2014-11-30 Weird nose but tasty, sourdough notes quite forward.
2014-03-03 Really interesting sour, lots of Mosaic and Brett are the defining characteristics. Soft and bready, definitely a lot of yeast. Tasty.
Drank 750 ml of 30th Anniversary - Fritz And Ken's Ale by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2010) | November 23rd, 2014 |
2014-11-23 Great bitterness and roast, with a bit of sweet up front, has held up really well. I think I hit it about right in terms of when to enjoy this last bottle.
2013-12-06 Started off a bit bland, but really came along as it warmed up, great bitterness coupled with nicely balanced stout character.
2013-04-25 What an amazing imperial stout. Great balance, perfect carbonation, and a complex finish with oak, coffee, and vanilla. Love it.
Drank 22 oz of Big John by Goose Island Beer Co. (2012-12-07) | November 23rd, 2014 |
2014-11-23 A very malt forward stout, lots of sweetness without being boozy, a tiny bit of roast on the end. Not bad, if not a favorite.
Drank 12 oz of Black Chocolate Stout by Brooklyn Brewery (2014) | November 18th, 2014 |
2014-11-18 Lots of chocolate, nice bitterness on the backend, some great roast and malt. Not a particular standout but a solid stout.
Drank 12 oz of Edmund Fitzgerald Porter by Great Lakes Brewing (2014) | November 18th, 2014 |
2014-11-18 Very mellow, low carbonation, mild flavor, a nice drinkable porter with dinner.
Drank 750 ml of The Wanderer by The Bruery (2013-10-24) | November 16th, 2014 |
2021-06-18 Maybe gone a little over but still not bad. Tart, a bit astringent, not too much overt fruit.
2014-11-16 Great fruit character and suuuuper tart, a great beer as always.
2014-02-23 Tart nose, mild raspberry and fruit flavor on the palate and a lot of yeast character and funk. Not super funky funk, but a decent bit of milder funk. A good beer, though perhaps slightly overrated.
Drank 750 ml of Funk Metal Sour Barrel-Aged Stout by Jester King Craft Brewery (2013) | November 16th, 2014 |
2014-11-16 Very stout like on the finish, lots of sour up front. Interesting and tasty but not a crowd favorite.
2013-03-28 Interesting! Not so much a stout, get more Consecration style flavor out of it. Good!
Drank 750 ml of Cosmic Dust by The Rare Barrel (2014) | November 16th, 2014 |
2014-11-16 This is awesome out of the bottle, great notes of hibiscus and yeast character, so drinkable, love it.
Drank 375 ml of Oude Geuze - Golden Blend by 3 Fonteinen (2011-02-17) | November 16th, 2014 |
2024-12-20 Such a quaffable gueuze. Smooth, only ever so mildly funky, lovely sweetness, and hasn't lost a step even with 13 years on it.
2014-11-16 Awesome funky nose, with such a nice sweetness on the palate, super balanced, drinking great.
2013-09-04 Awesome! Great balance of sweetness and funk, such a solid geuze. I actually like it better than Tilquen.
Drank 750 ml of Befuddlement by The Bruery (2014-07-03) | November 16th, 2014 |
2017-04-30 Only got a small taste, but still lots of fruit and a nice pucker.
2015-11-07 Big, thick, noticeable rye influence and a fairly subdued fruit character. Good, but not mind blowing.
2014-11-16 Super tart, great fruit on the back end, not at all boozy, delicious.
Drank 375 ml of Framboise For A Cure by Russian River Brewing Company (2014-09-04) | November 16th, 2014 |
2023-06-12 More body than the 2015 with a little less fruit, but definitely the better of the two.
2020-08-31 Not much fruit left but a very pleasantly tart and mellow framboise, with hints of sweetness coming through.
2015-06-26 Delicious as always, not too much raspberry left but still lots of citrus, and that perfect Russian River sour profile.
2015-03-05 Delicious, amazing color, great nose, lots of citrus and still a good bit of fruit there. Amazing beer.
2015-01-23 Still tasting amazing, plenty of fruit, best color of the batches tonight, if anything tasting a little more balanced now than it did fresh.
2014-11-16 Delicious, some lemon character, mild raspberry, great tang, a good start. |
