Drank 750 ml of Tart Of Darkness with Cherries & Vanilla by The Bruery (2014-08-14) | December 14th, 2014 |
2014-12-14 Delicious, great vanilla notes up front and definite cherry on the finish, and oh so tart. Love this variant.
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island Beer Co. (2014-09-29) | December 13th, 2014 |
2014-12-13 Delicious, amazing sweetness with little heat, a bit reminiscent of last year's barleywine. They've still got it.
Drank 750 ml of Ivan the Terrible Imperial Stout by Big Sky Brewing (2012) | December 6th, 2014 |
2014-12-06 A very mellow stout, not too much roast nor too much sweetness, drinkable and tasty.
2013-04-05 Lots of dried fruit in the nose, some raisin, some stone fruit. Some booze on the palate, along with more fruit, some vanilla, and a little cocoa. Good, but could definitely use time to settle. Bottle 344.
Drank 12 oz of 120 Minute IPA by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (2013) | December 5th, 2014 |
2014-12-05 Delicious, surprising bitterness backing up the malt, has held up superbly. Digging it.
Drank 500 ml of Terra Locale: Take Take by Wicked Weed (2014) | December 2nd, 2014 |
2014-12-02 Super mellow, a bit of funk, a bit of malt, a lot of grain, and very sippable. Another tasty bottle from Wicked Weed, though probably not as good as the other two I had back in North Carolina.
Drank 12 oz of Surette Provision Saison by Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (2013) | December 1st, 2014 |
2014-12-01 Great funk in the nose, nice and balanced on the palate, with some funk, some nice sweetness, and a farmhousey finish.
Drank 650 ml of Matilda by Goose Island Beer Co. (2012-08) | November 30th, 2014 |
2017-04-27 Has aged well; mellow sweetness, mellow funk, nice body.
2013-08-31 Definitely getting a lot more brett a year in; great beer for a warm day, nice bitterness on the finish.
2013-06-24 A little more Brett than last time; delicious!
Drank 750 ml of Seizoen Bretta by Logsdon Farmhouse Ales (2012) | November 30th, 2014 |
2013-04-12 This is a delicious beer.
2013-03-28 Delicious! Brett is mild, sweetness is perfect, some wheatiness.
Drank 750 ml of Allagash Curieux by Allagash Brewing Company (2012-08-24) | November 30th, 2014 |
Drank 750 ml of Sirius Black by The Rare Barrel (2014-05-21) | November 30th, 2014 |
2017-11-05 Nice blackberry presence, simple and delicious.
Drank 750 ml of MischMishMish by The Bruery (2014) | November 30th, 2014 |
2014-05-23 Still great, lots of apricot and tiny but of brett character.
2014-04-25 Awesome beer, still bummed I couldn't get more. Basically tastes like Mischief with apricots added (which I'd wager is the actual deal with this beer). Hope it becomes a standard.
Drank 750 ml of Melange No. 3 by The Bruery (2011) | November 30th, 2014 |
2013-09-01 Huge beer! First sip was unexpectedly powerful. Followup sips less so, for the ABV still hides the alcohol well. Not quite a stout, a good, big beer.
Drank 650 ml of Velvet Merkin by Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (2013) | November 30th, 2014 |
2017-08-19 I think this is the only one I had a pour of, but it's tasting great! I was worried it might not age well, but it held up great. May also have been enjoyable because of the comparatively lower ABV.
2014-10-09 Tasting good, a bit lighter than expected, hides the booze entirely, some nuttiness and some oatmeal definitely present, a delicious brew.
2013-10-15 Makes the wife a happy wife ;-) Awesome nose, lots of vanilla and maybe a hint of coconut, super smooth on the palate with a perfect balance of maltiness and oak characteristic, cut nicely by the oatmeal. Firestone knows how to make a delicious stout.
Drank 750 ml of Darkest Hour by Anchorage Brewing Co (2013-03) | November 30th, 2014 |
2013-07-29 Really interesting, a lot of wine notes for a stout, the barrel aging really comes through. Not the best but not bad either.
Drank 12 oz of Sourdough Wild Ale by Almanac Beer Co. (2013-02) | November 30th, 2014 |
2014-11-30 Weird nose but tasty, sourdough notes quite forward.
2014-03-03 Really interesting sour, lots of Mosaic and Brett are the defining characteristics. Soft and bready, definitely a lot of yeast. Tasty. |
