Drank 12 oz of Olde School Barleywine by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (2017-01-18) | August 9th, 2019 |
2019-12-03 Now it's really really good. Wish I had waited a little longer to open the first couple of bottles. Then I'd plan to drink them this winter. I guess it could get better, but it's really nice now.
2019-08-09 I can drink it with tacos. Certainly not the most optimal pairing but they're both still good even if they have completely separate flavor profiles. It's sweet. That's mostly what I'm getting this time. It's good, doesn't beat you over the head with hops.
2019-01-09 Now it tastes good. Alcohol heat is gone, leaving behind raisin, date, fig, sweetness. Incredibly deceiving 15% now, I would guess 11%. However, as pleasant as it is I don't long for a beer that tastes like this. I don't avoid eating food or brushing my teeth afterwards in order to continue enjoying the aftertaste. It's as good as any naked barleywine I've ever had, but can't aspire to the same heights as one aged in spirit barrels.
2018-05-05 Still plenty of alcohol heat. Not a dramatic amount of flavor for 15%. I guess I'll give it another year but I'm underwhelmed. Why do I keep trying stuff that isn't Central Waters?
Drank 12 oz of Bourbon Barrel Doppelbock by Lakefront Brewery (2019-01-21) | August 8th, 2019 |
2019-07-10 Has some really nice caramely notes and the barrel is about as well integrated as you could hope but... this style just isn't a good candidate for barrel aging. Fun, but not a banger.
Drank 12 oz of Pils by Good City Brewing Co (2019-07-10) | August 7th, 2019 |
2019-08-18 Great. Would crush again.
2019-08-04 Yeah, this is pretty much what I want when I want a pilsener.
Drank 12 oz of 120 Minute IPA by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (2016-07-14) | August 6th, 2019 |
Drank 12 oz of Pils by Good City Brewing Co (2019-07-10) | August 4th, 2019 |

Drank 12 oz of Thumbprint Flanders Sour by New Glarus Brewing Company (2019-01) | August 2nd, 2019 |
2019-08-02 It's pretty good. Wish he would do the Oud Bruin again.
2019-03-09 Has mellowed out a bit. Not sure how much character this will develop. Didn't overly impress me from the start so it's probably not my bag. Cran-bic, Enigma, Oud Bruin, Wild Sour, those are worth the space. This is refreshing. Goes well with trout. Probably won't buy again. Not because it's bad but there is great stuff out there and available.
2019-02-03 Wish it were maltier, I guess that would be an Oud Bruin. Should develop some nice funk so I'll be patient with the other bottles.
Drank 12 oz of Significant by BuckleDown Brewing (2018-11-07) | August 1st, 2019 |

Drank 12 oz of Kühler by New Glarus Brewing Company (2019) | July 30th, 2019 |

Drank 12 oz of Old Stock Ale 2014 by North Coast Brewing Co. (2014-11-07) | July 29th, 2019 |
2019-07-29 A miracle! This bottle was excellent. Two previous 2014s were cardboard. When it's right, it's great.
Drank 12 oz of Kid Kölsch by New Glarus Brewing Company | July 28th, 2019 |
Drank 16 oz of Fresh IIPA V33 by Hubbard's Cave (2019-07-10) | July 26th, 2019 |
Drank 12 oz of Hop JuJu by Fat Head's Brewery & Saloon (2019-06-17) | July 24th, 2019 |
2019-07-24 This wasn't good. I'm chalking it up to being past prime (although 5 weeks isn't THAT old) and likely not being refrigerated. Initially thought I was getting big hop aroma, but it's really a little hop mixed with malt sweetness. This tasted like a six month old 90 minute. Clear and bitter, but not well balanced. I'm not going to judge based on my experience with this can.
Drank 12 oz of Curmudgeon's Better Half by Founders Brewing (2018-08-20) | July 23rd, 2019 |
2019-11-15 They pretty much nailed this one. Maple is there. Nutty, dry bitterness is there from the old ale. Light on the bourbon, no big deal. A dessert beer for sure, very sweet. But good for the right situation/mood.
Drank 16 oz of Park IPA by Birdfish Brewing Company | July 22nd, 2019 |
