Drank 12 oz of 4Beans by Sixpoint Craft Ales | August 19th, 2015 |
2015-08-05 A-almost black in color with a fingers worth of tan head that leaves a layer of lace on top
S-roasted rich coffee, chocolate, and vanilla
T-similar the the smell with roasted coffee and chocolate. Some vanilla sweetness as the beer starts to warm.
M-medium body, fuller than your average porter, and moderate carbonation
Overall definitely an Imperial Porter. Glad that Sixpoint decided to revisit this. | |

Drank 650 ml of Strawgator by Abita Brewing Company | August 5th, 2015 |
2015-08-05 A: 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Hazy yellow-orange. White in the dimple. Decent sheeting; holds well. Light lacing.
S: Strawberry jelly. Slight strawberry seed. Sweet pastry bread. Aroma is only moderate, but good.
T/MF: As I was afraid of, strawberry flavor is quite light. Strawberry flavored cereal, with a touch of hop bitterness backing. Still, stronger strawberry presence than your average strawberry blonde ale. More crisp and refreshing than I would expect from a doppelbock.
