All that's left of the coffee is disappointing bitterness. Doesn't bode well for the rest of these bottles I have

More malty than I expected. Bug flavor even at 8.5%, wish there were more things this good at this low ABV (compared to other big stouts). Bourbon has mellowed over the years but still pleasantly present

Sweetness and wood flavor very reminiscent of wood aged bitches brew, with a brown ale twist. Hides the heat very well but can't help wishing it was closer to 8% or 9%

Great bomb release. When it warms up it's a little much just like any similar beer. Hit with the friends. Excellent as per usual with prairie

Shockingly good heavily chilled. Possibly the best drink I've ever had? Could chug it cold before I knew what hit me. As it heats up the alcohol comes through, no different from any super high abv stout. If only they got this good at 6% so you could knock back a few without them knocking you back

A strange blend. I think the wine barrels gave it the character I didn't like much

Chili is actually spicy but not overpowering, the burn lingers. The underlying beer is unremarkable but pretty good

Noticeably more mellow as a ~4 year old (2013) vs the ~2 year old (2015). First reaction was that it was better but on future reflection I could be persuaded to go either way -- older is more mellow and almost no heat, newer has a lot more bourbon and may be truer to the intended flavor profile
