Drank 22 oz of Smuttynose Baltic Porter (Big Beer Series) by Smuttynose Brewing Co. (2013)June 16th, 2013

Good beer, hold lots of promise to get even better. Needed a little more age to settle down, the carbonation was still a little hot from the bottle conditioning and the flavors weren't as melded as they could have been. Overall 3.5/5 with room to improve.
Drank 12 oz of Summer Ale by Samuel Adams (2013)May 30th, 2013

Uninspiring, overly sweet, ABV is too low, lacking body. Not a very good beer. 2/5
Drank 22 oz of Hookset Ale by White Birch Brewing (2013-03)May 28th, 2013

Nicely balanced Belgian Pale Ale. Hops were still reasonably fresh but the spice and softer tones of the Belgian yeast came together nicely to balance it. 4/5

Drank 750 ml of St. Vincent's Dubbel by Captain Lawrence Brewing Company (2013)May 27th, 2013

A nice, though clearly American, take on the Dubbel style. Belgian candy sugar, molasses, a hint of candied ginger, and a powerful but not overwhelming malt backbone are the most notable features. Some cloves, a little rye bread, and a touch of anise are also present. Nice mouthfeel, very balanced. A nicely drinkable beer. 4/5
Drank 750 ml of Saison Vielle Provision by Brasserie Dupont (2012)May 27th, 2013
2013-05-27
Bright, tart, slightly dry, supremely refreshing and drinkable. Very light funk adds a rustic feel to this beer. The sparkling carbonation really brings this beer to life. It's no Avec les bons Vouex but it's damn good. 4.5/5
Drank 750 ml of Saison Rue by The Bruery (2012)May 27th, 2013

Belgian notes of cloves and coriander compete with rye heaviness and a significant malt backbone on the palate. A slight brett funk is there too but is relatively understated. Mouthfeel is Belgian but more on the order of a Dubbel, would have preferred it to have a more champagne-like feel to brighten it up a bit. Not bad, not great. 3.5/5
